Should we make the Leaderheads 3D?

This is a poll to see if we should change the leaderheads from 2D still, to 3D animated.

i found R8XFT's leaderhead library today, and i thought "hot damn! those are good!" and i thought we should have a poll to see if a change to 3D is a good one or not.

I don't want to go for that right now. I agree some of those LHs look awesome but I won't add any 3Ds until we got enough fantasy stuff. And that will probably take a long time yet.

Edit: btw those LHs are fantastic but unfortunatly only for civ 3...

i didnt realize they were for Civ 3 not 4 its been sooo long since i played vanilla of both versions i had forgotten what the leader heads looked like

Although to be honest I would prefer animated 2D leaderheads (if thats possible) than static 3D one's.

actually, now you mention it, 2d animated would be good. there would be less lag for slow computers, but it would still look good. not too sure how it would work though.

I like 2D since you have more available right now. If you could painstakingly swap all at once then I'd have a separate d/l where people could do that if they chose. Way down the road for most/all mods IMO.

I agree! It's better to have awesome 2D's than wuss 3d's. I think we should only ad 3D's if we have enough for every civ.

I'd love to work on some proper 3D leaderheads. I need more practice with morph modifiers so that'd be pretty cool.

I don't remember seeing any tutorials on how to do it, though. I thought that was something we hadn't worked out yet?

My guess is the scripts available atm don't suffice to really have a breakthrew on this topic. As far as I know editing existing LHs is possible to a limited degree with nifedits but I haven't seen any completly new model nor new animations yet.

it would be cool if you did figure that out neener, i seem to recall seeing some thread in the graphics forum with lots of 3D leaderheads, (although i might be thinking about the 2D ones that R8XFT did.)
