Shuts down screen

Hi!
I recently began playing Civ 4 and I have a problem!
Whever I've gotten so far into the game 100 turns maby the screen freezes and if I click away with my mouse the screen shuts down. Goes from green to orange as if in standbymode or when the computer is off.

Games is cracked though so I might have to eat my shorts.

And how would sir like his shorts served? I've heard about thsi happening before with cracked games: do yourself a favour and get a proper version.

I was facing the same problem until today when I decided to fix it. Luckily for you, it is easy. I have a Core 2 duo processor, 1 GB RAM and 8500GT. OS is XP Pro.

You can try the following to fix this:

1. Update your video drivers and sound drivers. DO NOT IGNORE THIS. This did the trick for me

2. Whenever you feel that the game is becoming too slow, save and exit to desktop. Wait for some time (until the HDD light stops working furiously) and then restart the game. This will lead to a considerable improvement. Do this as often as you have to.

3. Look up the tech support forum for tips on improving the performance of the game.

4. BUY the game. Or borrow it from your friend like I did and wait until the game becomes very cheap. We want Civ5 to be significantly better, don't we?
