Sid Game Progress Sharing?

30 muskets is way to much for demigod :)
On DG and Deity you can still easily outproduce the AI, so the war is not so much different lower difficulty levels.

:bump: Tryin it again, 60% arch, as the Dutch (my favorite settings) on a standard map. Was majorly behind in tech, but a monopoly on writing traded for a half monopoly of math which got me every AI's treasury and techs :D , and now I'm in the lead. I've got a giant island that appears to be mine only! I've got a very good feeling about this game.

Here's a sign: :wavey:

I can't believe I missed this thread before. A very entertaining read. :goodjob: Looks like you've got a nice starting position there so I'll be watching. I'm trying the HoF latest minor gauntlet at the moment but if I start another Sid game I'll post some shots here as well.

Good luck!

I'm giving you a sign :p (too late :) - beaten by Tone)

Why don't you hire a scientist? A free tech every 2 purchases can be very useful.

Edit: Too bad I don't have Sid games to share anymore... I'm working on Monarch now :D

I could hire a scientist, but there's a lot of trading, and I'll have all the first tier MA techs before 50 turns. I think PP and the techs leading to Free artistry are my hopes now. And a war with the mildly dangerous Iroquois.

Last Sid attempt you can see on this thread with the same settings, I learned a lesson. In the early MA I couldn't have had a better position to attack my neighbor, the Maya, who were at war with someone else, not that big, and I had a large army and a GA coming up, but I chickened out, and they won via SS. I'm gonna try and kill the Iros somehow. Still thinking of ways. By the time I get cav they'll be far ahead, and medieval infantry plus bombardment and baiting takes way too long. I may have to do it anyway.

Thanks for the signs :D .

I had temporarily lost hope for a while, because I had no trading opportunities, therefore no way to catch up, until I considered the GL, located in Istanbul. I thought, small civ + sid = hundreds of units per city, but the embassy found only six spears  , I can realistically take it! That will help tons. So I'm finishing up the light infra (markets and sometimes courts) and then going on to rax and military/navy. I hope to have 5 swiss merc's, 8-10 MDI, and 10-15 trebs. Should take about 5 galleys then.

It will be a long way to get there, as you can see here

Only 5 galleys? What units are you intending to take?

That sounds more like it. I wasn't sure if I was missing something but with a one shot attack I didn't think I was!

After finished with a wonder, Istanbul started making more military, and was GPowder, with about 15 muskets in. I decide to ally Babylon against them, if Babylon takes it, it won't be as high a priority for defense, so I can take it when lightly defended, and if they don't, they should at least act as artillery for me. Here's what I have to take it with:

Wish me luck, I'll definately need it. Now it's time to sleep, I can barely keep my eyes open.

The Inca were the most backwards civ, didn't even have writing, now they're in the IA  . So now I can easily take the city, I just hope there aren't any rifles (even for sid, they are 32 shields which is expensive for resistant/corrupted cities with poor AI MM).

This is good because I sign Mil alliance and RoP with Babylon (to get there) so I would have had to break those and lose my silks had Babylon captured it. Things are looking up  .

Edit: Investigated Istanbul, they've got a lot of horses and wounded Chasqui's, no spears. I have the numbers to take them, wish me luck that they don't get more!
