Do you think that Sid Meier, the creator of civilization, could beat a game on Sid??? i dont think so. just because he's the creator doesnt mean he's good...

I suppose he is a very experienced player, and any experienced gamer can win a game at Sid difficulty after some trys, and by tweaking the game in their advantage. With Byzantines on Archipelago against expansionist ennemies for example...

He may know everything about the game, more than anyone else does, but you never know, Sid may be very impatient, so he can't micromanage well, not allowing him to win on Sid.

I don't think he would win on his first try. Just because you made the game doesn't mean you know every trick. In fact, since he made the game, he is more likely to play the game the way it was made to be played - not optimally.

I've only heard of 2 or 3 that have won and never on a totally random SID game.

I know nothing of the man and it would only be a guess if he has the ability or the patience to play SID level.

No, he didn't really make it. He was working on other games at the time. He does have the source code though, so he can know what is going on under the hood. I'd say, yes.
