Silly, Need Help!

Hi, I am sure, this question is placed in the wrong place, but I am new here. I am sorry. I changed the city- graphics so that they look different in the game. Everything worked in the Editor, but later in the game, there was just a black rectangle, where the city schould be. What can be the reason? Thank you very much!!!

Last night all the Ocean tiles in my scenarios were Blacked out, you could still
see units but not the 'water'. I removed my disk and gave it a
good cleaning and everything was back to normal. Try to clean first or the
CD may be scratched .

Thank you for your fast reply. The problem is the same, but the CD is fine here. I am sure, there's something wrong with the file, but I can't find the mistake. I also don't understand why it works in the Editor.

How did you change the graphics? There are various things you can to do to sizes and palettes that can make a .pcx file that looks fine in an editor fail in the game. Probably the best way to change your city graphics is to get one of the excellent mods from the C&C forum. If you did that, then I would say download again - there might have been some corruption in the transfer or the editing it sounds like you did.

My guess would be that you unknowingly messed up the palette used by the .pcx file. It will look fine when you edit it, but not in the game. Have a good look at the Creation & Customization forum for some good tutorials.

There's a really easy way to fix it. Just load up the original file in your graphics program, then copy and paste your edit on top of it. The new image will use the pallette of the original.
