How do I (a newb) find out my computer specs.?

The simplest way to find out the basics is to go to
Start > Run > dxdiag
Then look around int he tabs.
Or you could use a program such as EVEREST Home Edition
It will give you a lot more details, but seeing as you defined yourself as a newb when it comes to computers, it might be a bit confusing.
