Single player autosave?

Is there any autosave feature at all for single player or multi? I just have my first crash when one of my friend called me via googletalk, I alt-tap to desktop and when I try to get back, I saw the map with no interface window for a second then it just crashed out, lost about 3 hours of progress on my single player

Yes, by default it autosaves every 4 or 5 turns, whichever it is, I changed mine to 15.

Where do you find your autosaves? I look in all the save folders and cannot find any autosave and also where do you adjust the autosave interval?

Autosaves are in a subfolder.

The interval can be changed in the INI file that's located in the my docs\my games\civilization 4 folder.
