Skaven development thread

aaglo, I just wanted to compliment you again on these units that you're producing. They are incredible. Keep up the good work! :)

About the making of the Jezzail (sorry to bring him back) : does anybody remember the saurus musketeer by Kinboat?

It could help(I think), for some inspiration. These two-figures units are just great!!! Of course it takes a lot of time, but that's worth it!;)

I wrote a civilopedia entry for the Bilge Rat:

Bilge Rats are huge water rats, grown by Clan Moulder to reach monstrous sizes. In fact, so large are these creatures that their bone structure no longer permits them to walk on land.

Trained since birth to tolerate the troop platform on their back, Bilge Rats are powerful swimmers. Unfortunately, these beasts are unintelligent, and stories of the rats suddenly diving underwater and drowning their passengers are not uncommon.

Bilge Rats are vulnerable to enemy cannon and missile fire, but – if they get close enough – can cause enormous damage by gnawing on the hulls of hostile ships. Attempts to mount offensive weaponry on the troop platform have failed, since the loud noises made by such weapons frighten the Bilge Rat and cause it to become unpredictable and dangerous to the crew.

Hehehehe... the Great Ascendacy has begun

What is truely amazing is that the whole civ was created in less than a year, considering at one point i was the only one making the rat-men!

big thanks to aaglo too, who i think has overtaken me as the Skaven Architect :D

ps. how's you skaven worker coming along?

You know guys, I really don't think Skaven fit in as a Civ in this game, so we should just delete them and forget about them.

...yeah right!

I hope it's skaven slaves, not skaven workers, too :)

Great job guys with the Skaven civ. Nice to see that in the end even aaglo was badgered into doing ratmen. :)

That being said, have you considered redoing the plague monk though? I've seen them mentioned so often when discussing Skaven that a civ-colourless conversion (as good as it is) looks like it may stand out a bit too much. Especially as the Censer Bearer (that the plague monk apparently upgrades to or vice versa) has the aaglo look to it. Also, don't plague monks have weapons? Can you place the unit in its appropriate place if it has just its claws to attack with?

Well, actually it has a type of civ colour, as it is in the Clan Pestilens colours, so even if aaglo redo it (which I doubt he's interested in), it should still be pale green.
No, the Plague Monk doesn't upgrade, the Censer Bearer is spawned by a wonder.
I wouldn't mind if someone gave the Plague Monk a sword, but I'm not interested in doing all that C'n'P work.

And, may I ask if there's gonna be a rat race in MoM II? ;)
