SKIOT: Sign-up thread

Are New World Claims allowed?

Yes but you'll be rather far behind technologically. This isn't going to make a huge difference until the New World gets discovered though, so take that with a grain of salt.

Also I just noticed this:

Country Name: The Hanseatic League of Merchants (The Hansa).

Minor nitpick: Unless there's something I'm missing, your religion can't be protestant, since we're about 700 years early for that.

May it be possible for some longboats to be left behind after the expedition to Vinland? ;)

History of the French Papal States

The French Papal states began after the disputed Papal Conclave of 795, in which Leo forced his ascension to the Papacy. Pascale Massimi, chosen as Bishop of Rome by the large majority of the College of Cardinals, was forced to flee in fear of his life to Southern France. Now with the majority of the Cardinals residing in France, Pope Pascal has sought to bring the Papacy back to its Roman home. Unfortunately the true Papacy is being opposed by Charlemagne, who backs Leo as Pope for unknown reasons. It is the hope of the Catholic world to end this schism created by Leo and Charlemagne, and restore Pope Pascale back to his rightful seat in Rome.

I mean last time I checked this was alt-history, so could have happened earlier.

Either way, I don't got no time for none of this.

Dropping.

Well, hopefully we'll be able to get started sometime later this week, as soon as I can get a few things done.

History: After the local domestication of the camel, many cities on the West African rivers (such as the Niger) began to expand on the growing trade of salt, gold and ivory. Koumbi Saleh, once a small Sorghum-based agricultural town, became a major center of power and commerce. Its kings would build up more power, and under the rule of Majan Dyabe Cisse, conquer neighboring kingdoms. As a result, by 800 AD (on the Christian Calendar) the Ghana empire became one of the most powerful states in West Africa. However, the nation faced several challenges, and opportunities. Other cities, such as Timbuktu were also growing in the region and with trade and knowledge from the north came the religion of Islam, which threatened to alter the local status quo.

Neighbors: Possibly Timbuktu or Gao (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Ghana_empire_map.png)

Points: 2 army, 2 econ, 1 learning (open to change depending on the rules)

Sorry guys, I realized I can't run this right now. I'm going to be completely gone for 3 weeks in late June/early July. After I come back I'll try and restart this.
