Slinger -> Arquebus

Both the Illians and Lanun have a second hero, and both Guybruch and Wilbo have a stronger attack.

I might take Maros over Guybruch or Wilbo, but not if I wanted to do much offence, and I certainly wouldn't take him over Guy+black wind or Wilbo + The White Dragon

Good luck using Wilboman or Guybrush when playing as the khazad :lol:

Okay I have played MANY games for FFH2, FF, Orbis, FF+, ect ect...

I have seen many references to the Shrine of the Champion, I assume it is something about resurrecting a dead hero, but I have never built or seen it. I really don't know what it does beyond wild guesses.

Can someone enlighten me please?

it's a feature that used to be in FFH, but was apparently removed. FF never removed it, so we still have it.

It's a wonder that you can only build after your civ's hero dies. It gives a free promotion to any new unit built in the city containing it. A free choice promotion, identical to how adepts get to choose one when created. I believe it stacks with that too, so building an adept in that city starts with 2 free promotions.

Maros is good in MP. Just give him high magic defense... maybe Guardsman, and you can protect your stacks nicely.

Having Maros start with Guardsman would seem to make sense, as he is the Umberguard.

I know of no reason why he should be magic resistant, but the pedia does seem to indicate that Paramanders should be. I give them Magic Resistance plus a 40% bonus vs unitcombat_adept in my version. I've considered letting them target unitcombat_adept in stacks of stronger units (probably instead of the bonus against them), but so far I think I'll leave that for the Witchhunter unit (which I haven't added yet to any recent version, but plan to. It would be created by a followup event to the one where you are given a choice as to whether to let the mob burn the witch, which would also cause the city to go into anarchy).

Honestly, I have some trouble understanding why Arthendain is an RoK unit at all. True, most dwarves follow Kilmorph, but the lore seems to say that Arthendain is actually a servant of Sucellus. Even if in the newer version of his pedia entry he does not consciously pledge his soul to the God of Life, the fact that he would have gone to the Netherworld had not Sucellus requested his soul seems to indicate that his faith in Kilmorph at least isn't all that strong.

The Mithril Golem probably needs a lower AC prereq.

I think Tasunke was saying that, gameplaywise, it's a good idea to have Maros buy the Magic Resistant promo in MP. Judging by how all the good human players use powerful attack magic at least somewhat, I can see why.

The best guardsmen in unmodded FfH are warriors. Get one to guardsman immediately then never buy it any more strength enhancing promos, only stuff like mobility/march/commando. Guardsmanning Maros would be a good move in something like Fall Further.

Unless Guardman still makes it so that it defends until it dies, I fail to see why maros is not a good guardsman unit for basemod.

nonetheless, having low power guardsman units does distract assasins, but I hardly see it worthwhile unless they "kill" the assasins. Otherwise its best to use scouts with rly high withdrawal.
