Smart Tags

Office XP has came loaded with tons of features that I don't need or really want; but they don't get in the way, so I don't care too much.

HOWEVER, those ****** smart tags keep on popping up! I turn them off and when I open up my journal and type in the date, they TURN BACK ON!

It's driving my crazy and I have no idea how to deal with it.

The help hasn't helped me - it tells no way of disabling the feature for good.

Do you have some kind of helpdesk to call? The support should be able to tell you what to do. I don't know what smart tags are.

For example Word2002 (Word XP if you want ):

TOOLS->OPTIONS->VIEW tab->SMART TAGS box

Uncheck this box and your smart tags should disappear.

Specifically note the lower part of that page. As you can see you can simply uninstall the smart tags seperately.
