may sound crazy, but for me this kinda look like a boat and not a mosque tower..

I agree too, the older sneak peeks also encouraged us to find more background information (pun intended? :D). Big fan of the marketing except for these new hints.

In some ways, the new hints are okay to guess in that they're always vague, and that there is a chance you'll guess the hint incorrectly.

But yeah, in most other ways they're really frustratingly boring.

As the case of Canada demonstrated, this may not even be the main building, just some generic structure in the background.

The next First Look is Sweden. You heard it from me first here.

It doesn't remind me much of the Great Mosque of Djenné nor of a dome... However, I do think it's either the Ottoman Empire or Mali.

Wait on further inspection you can see a change in color indicative of a horizon.

It's Phoenicia

It could also be the Al-aytuna Mosque in Tunisia for Carthage.

They could go really far out and it could be Sweden's Ericsson Globe, but that seems REALLY unlikely.

It's probably not actually the Mosque of Djenne, since that's a more recent construction. The University of Sankore doesn't quite fit. But it's something very similar to those.

A quick wikipedia search indicates that Musa's capital was actually Niani, not Timbuktu. Learn something every day.

I mean I can totally see it being a boat docked on a cothon with the sea as a backdrop (can almost see a horizon)

They do this on purpose dont they

Oh my god

If we assume the peak is actually a mast or a standalone building that changes everything

WHAT IS THIS.png

Baaaasically means it can't be Mali or Sweden and therefore MUST be Ottomans OR Phoenicia :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Taking the gold-coins from the last broadcast into account I'll go with the flow and say it's Mali.
But I don't care so much. Any News is good news, it was long weeks since the last reveal...

Like many here, I must say I don't really like these sneak peaks... they're always portions of images that could just be anything... Plus, once the reveal is done, we don't even get a feedback telling us exactly what it was... useless imho

You can see it in the leader screen once it is done.

IF it were a dome, it would rule out Phoenicia, because domes were beyond the architectural engineering of the time.
But it's rectangular if you crank up the brightness enough.
Still doesn't look like Phoenicia.
The entire proportion of the roof/peak doesn't look anything like Malian.
BUT Not being a dome makes it less like Ottoman, to my eye.

Of the remaining candidates, I'm going with Probably Maybe Sweden.

It's regular enough that it's not a termite mound or beaver lodge, so Human. Yep, definitely Human.

I mean, you can see a beam sticking out the right side, like in Malian mud architecture.

I'm going to laugh so loud if it turns out te be a termite mound

But there is something below the beam on the right sight (if we speak of the same thing at all) that doesn‘t seem to fit.
I wouldn’t rule out a Phoenician lighthouse. It would fit Dido to appear on her screen in the background and while we don‘t know phonician lighthouse remains (afaik), other classical remains are indeed rectangular stories put on top of each other.
