Yup, it's Georgia. Looked up "Georgian Weapons and found this

eta: J51 sniped me, but here's the image for you to see three Georgian knuckledusters.

"One knows a lion by its claws and Tamar by her actions." is also a famous quote spoken about Tamar.

The shield is from a christian land, and made for mounted combat. The sword is more oriental. Definitely medieval. The lion could be anybody, it's a common descriptor. No idea what that last thing is.

I really do hope it's Georgia. I mean Scotland would be fine, and far preferable to the "Celts", but Georgia would be a really new interesting region to represent.

Edit: And... what do you know, all but confirmed now!

Oh dear, Georgia is really happening... I would've preferred the Celts... Ehh, I've been fond of the additions up until now, doesn't hurt to have one less than amazing.

Yeah, after googling Ethiopian shields I retract my first guess. Must have been wishful thinking.
So, most likely Celts/Scots or Georgia ?

Ok so 10 mins in and it is already solved - that picture with metal rings or whatever it is ends thread I guess... Good job.

We have The Google, we can Research It

Well looks like the meme is real now especially with those Georgian weapons.

I'm also fairly confident it's Georgia. The sword matches images of Georgian swords (and definitely not Scottish), the Wikipedia article about kite shields specifically mentions Georgia and Tamar was once described as a lion. Not sure about the bracelet thing though!

Lion and Christian symbolism reminds me of Haile Selassie...

But that sword is definitely Georgian...

Yes, fellow Civfanatics, it's happening whether you like Georgia/Tamar or not! :D

This cheers me up after the Cree controversy.
