SNEAK PEAK: Interstellar Colonization AND cIVRPG

I had a busy time in RL during a month or so recently, but after a short while when that was over, I started working some on cIVRPG. (Sorry IntCol team). Here is an update.

Update Report:


cIVRPG

  • Converted the Fall From Heaven .015 SDK compiled DLL to be used for cIVRPG instead of the .012 DLL I used to be using.
  • Added Accuracy and Evasion. On each combat round there is a check for Accuracy vs Evasion. And if its succesful, it is a hit, otherwise its a miss. (This is after the games regular check if its your hit or the opponents, even first strikes can miss)
  • Added Critical Strikes. The two attributes; CriticalChance and CriticalAmount have been added to promotions. The base amount for a critical is 150% (or 50% increase of damage). I dont think I need to explain further what these two attributes do.
  • Added Shield Blocks, and regular Damage Blocks. Shields can have a chance to block and an amount to block if succesful. The amount set on ShieldBlockAmount is the % amount the damage gets lowerd. The regular Damage Block doesnt have a chance to lower damage, it always does. For instance, there is a buff that lowers the damage taken by 20%.
  • Added Ignore Shield Defense, if checked on a promotion, while you have that promotion your damage cant be blocked by shields. This effect is applied to certain skills that go away after combat.
  • Various small changes and bugfixes done.
  • Added Stuns to the SDK. Stun makes the target shocked an unable to attack back. Works for an amount of combat rounds, can be broken by taking damage. (Resistance will be added in the future)
Deathling is my personal playtester at the moment. And thats how its going to be for a while.
 
Wow, I come here because I was curious about cIVRPG, and look what I find. You've clearly put a lot of work into this. Dabbling in astronomy as I do, I find that this Interstellar Colonization project is pretty interesting. If you need any design help or writing to be done, on either project, I'd be very glad to help out.
 
Would really like to know how to turn the map into a planet type of map, if you dont want to give it away, PM me. I mainly do maps, is why i am asking, got to do different ones, gets boring same ole same ole, if you know what i mean?? Of course , hope its not to hard,:p
 
I just wanted to tell everyone that I'm actively working on both of the mods again. (I have been working some on cIVRPG that last weeks)

I've started on an online design document for IntCol today on our team forum. This will help us work toward the same goal, and if I can manage to keep it updated it will be a solid backbone which the developement can rely on.
 
Just a little bump for the majority of the people who don't read threads beyond the first page.
 
I just wanted to update here a bit with saying that both of these mods are going forward in their developement. Not fast, but still!

IntCol have a redesigned techtree on the way, and some new planets and the current version loses bugs as we speak.

I've start writing both mods Design Documents, and I'm doing alot of mindmaps in Freemind.

cIVRPG is starting to get somewhat of a background story, and I'm redoing alot of the player classes together with Deathling, aswell as revamping the combat system. As I've said before, the game now has Accuracy, Critical Rates, Criticial Power, Shield Blocking, Shield Penetration, Defenses that lowers the damage recieve by a percentage. And lots of other stuff is going to be added that will be required by the skills some classes will have. Like Return Damage, Life Leech, etc.

The work isnt going fast as I've said, but we are getting there.
I'm going to try and update in this thread more regularly.

Are you going to update the screenshots? (like the first one for intcol, which has the small houses (one of the squashed bugs) ).
 
Will units of smaller fighter units be several fighters or simply one? I believe groups of smaller units would make more sense than indivudials.

I havnt given that much thought, but thats true.
