So my video card is the minimum required but Civ 4 keeps crashing! I have a P4 3.0 with 1.256 gigs of memory on a home made box, with windows XP. :help: Do I have to get a bigger video card or what? Which one should I get?

a better video card wouldn't hurt, but a lot of people (including me) have civ4 crashing. The problem is that the game is so unstable and is probably not due to your video card.

I wouldnt spend a nickle until the patch comes out and you have updated
and reran the game.... I to have a moster comp with Ballz of steal... until
civIV Kicks it where the sun doesnt shine

I also have the crash to reboot problem. I doubt it's the video card the damn game is unstable not to mention a memory hog.

Don't buy a video card.

The game is broken. I've got 3.4GHz, 128 of video, with 1.0G of PC4200, and I'm still crashing to desktop and BSODing all over the place. Called the Tech Support people, they can't help me. I'm supposed to call back tomorrow and give them my case # as they try to figure out what's going on.

Wait until a patch is released, and if that fixes anything --big IF-- then try it again, but don't go tossing good money after bad. Your domestic advisor would frown upon this.

Later!

I FIXED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:goodjob: I went to the Nvidia website and downloaded the driver for my video card (Gforce2 MX 400, 64mb) and replaced the one windows XP had automaticly found for me and now it rocks! no crashing, and the videos on the world wonders work now too.:king:
