Just started my first serious game and have gone quite aggressive with my neighbours. The fourth city I captured auto-annexed as before (at first I assumed I clicked 'annex' without thinking - it was only after capturing the 5th city that I noticed)

As before hitting f6 twice restores the message queue (and happiness to correct values). I really like the improvements so far but I really expected this to be fixed by now.
 
Thanks for sharing this Juanholio, I thought I had been dumb enough to twice annex a conquered city by mistakenly clicking on the button... :D Plus no one in the forum seemed to have mentioned it so far, so I was a bit concerned !

Quick question about the fix though: do you need to hit f6 twice each time before (or after) you conquer the city, or is it enough to do it once, say at the start of your game (or your reload if relevant) ? Thanks !
 
Happened to me in an earlier game as Zulu, capturing unit was an impi each time. Not sure if it's related to the unit but it hasn't happened in subsequent games.

Interesting, my capturing units were pathfinders. Even after the patch this happened most of the time in my G&K games, I guess we'll see how frequent this is in due course.

lb1785: the f6 'trick' was a workaround that was (as far as I recall) introduced in the latest G&K patch to restore the message queue so the popups appear properly. Once you notice you've got the bug hit f6 to open the science pop up and close it (I just hit f6 twice quickly) and hey-presto it's all back to normal. I can't remember if it works with other pop ups, e.g. f4,f5 etc.
 
We found one lingering issue that was specific to closing the tech tree with the "esc" key. We will make sure this is squashed in the next patch.
