So when do you think is the soonest I can buy a Non-reserved PS3/Wii from a store?

When will more Wiis/PS3s be in stock readily available?

I say not til after the holidays. :(

Why cant they just make more. Companies never seem to be prepared for the console launches.

You should've gotten the Wii on Sunday, my friend only waited in line for an hour to get it.

Companies don't not be prepared, it's on purpose so that you pay them money to get it faster and for more money. ;)

But, probably in February, I don't know how many reserved consoles there are, but I'd assume February. BTW, does anybody know when the 360's price first drops?

Why do you want a console now? Wait a year until the console bugs are fixed and good games come out. (cmon MGS4!)

Well Nintendo has started shipping additional consoles to stores this week and plans on having a new shipment every week until the end of their fiscal year (March). If you're quick or know a low-traffic store that might have one, you can definitely get a Wii before Christmas.

Sony, on the other hand has been a bit sketchy on when they'll make the next shipment of PS3s. You probably won't be able to get one of those until after Christmas.

If we're talking PS3 then I think in February of '07.

I didn't end up getting a PS3 or a Wii but I'm not too concerned. I'm waiting until the library of games expands and all the bugs are worked out (for the PS3 that is).

I been told that over here Microsoft are going to drop the price of the Core System from £210 to £150 when the Wii (costing £180) comes out.

Just wondering, but you all mention bugs with the PS3.
Are there many/any known bugs with the wii?

I'm gonna wait until I get the things that I really need paid off first for this month. Wii can wait. :D

First they said when the wii and ps3 came out, then they said before holiday season. Finally they said about Febuary 2007 :(

Oh well, I decided to buy one last may :)

How long to get a PS3 or Wii? Well, depends on how far away the nearest person who owns one is, how long it takes them to fall asleep or go on vacation, how quickly you can pick a lock...

Oh, wait, misread the topic title. You want to buy one from a store. Sorry, that was just how I get most of my consoles.

Both Nintendo and Sony are going to be shipping more units before Christmas, but those will likely be sold very quickly as well. I looked over GameSpot, but didn't see any articles on that. Your best bet may be to ask whatever store you go to when their next shipment is coming in.

EDIT: Okay, this article indicates Nintendo will ship four million Wiis worldwide by year's end. this one from GameSpot may also help out. Can't find anything real solid, though.

As for when they'll be easily available like the PS2, GCN, and 360 are now, I'd say a couple weeks after Christmas.

When you get a girlfriend.

I'll get one the next day.

Honestly, it'll be a year before the really good games come out anyways. The XBox 360 is finally getting some new titles that are good. It is always that way with new consoles.

I just picked up my Wii yesterday.

I bought it off ebay from a guy that lived very close by; about an hour away actually.

So i drove there and payed for it inhand since i couldnt wait for delivery.

Does anybody know if I can buy a 360 now? Like in the stores, or is it sold out for the holiday season.

Theres plenty of 360s in stock. You should be able to get one.

Sweet! Thanks Xanikk.

BTW, have you seen any around here (the area)?

Check best buy. Theres one on columbia pike. Columbia pike goes through annandale and merges with little river turn pike.
