So, who is taking Civ V release week off?

I'll skip class on the Wednesday it's released, but that's about all I can swing. Unfortunately I can't afford to not work the release weekend...even worse, I have to drive back home for my job and leave my desktop with Civ5 installed at school.

I'm off work from the 18th till Oct 4th.
I would imagine I'll have some time to try Civ V :)

I already put in for vacation from September the 22nd to the 24th (for a total of five days with the weekend! Anybody else?

I've scheduled that time and the next week off after release.

Told them I am going to Berlin, Paris, Moscow, Beijing, and DC. And that my blackberry doesn't work in those places.

:D

Exactly :)

Uh, I plan to get one day off for extra (Monday), civ5 is a thing to celebrate...

Oh, I wish I could take a day off from school...

I always laugh when people make reservations to take the first week off and then complain because they can't play the game straight out of the box for whatever reason. If you must take time off, wait a few days for patches and fixes, otherwise you might find yourself with a day off and nothing to play.

I was going to take a day off for release week but decided that since I have two weeks of Fall Break just a few weeks later, I'll wait. :)

I'm taking a few days off, for sure.

Never had a problem. Most of the time it's due to the user's PC, not the game. People who game on laptops, ancient PCs, and/or who don't take care of their computers are taking their chances period.

well.. poor me.. I cant. Our company has a open doors day at the 26nd and i have to be at a conference from 27th until 30th if I remember it right. All this requires a lot f work before that and I probably will die horrible deaths until after the conference because I won't get the game before that.

I have the Saturday of that week then the whole next week. It's my wife's birthday that week. So I might have to sacrifice some of that day.

I'm taking off Friday Sept. 27, I'll have 3 days to be cocooned with Civ5. The real test will be not installing and playing it from Tuesday-Thursday :twitch:

Unfortunately Tuesday is the busiest day of my week. I probably won't be done working until 9pm. I've never considered buying a downloadable copy until I realized that getting the game quickly on Tuesday would be very helpful. I'm afraid of what will happen to my productivity for the rest of the release week.

I've been working full-time like a dog for the last four years. Now it's time to go back to Poland and see what happened there while I was gone. My son's birth is due in November, and I'll be back in Poland on September 14th.
This is ideal - I'll have couple of weeks time to settle down before I'll lock myself in my old room and play to my heart's content. :smoke:

I am one incredibly lucky bastard, I know :D

My work week goes from Saturday to Monday, so I get the first four days off standard.

I found out about Civ 5 the day I got back from vacation, so alas, I'll be working. I'm also committed to a charity event the first weekend after its release, so I dunno what I'm going to do...fake an injury at work maybe.

I'll be in school, so I won't get to play it untill that weekend.

wow what are you studying? rocket science? :crazyeye:

im taking a week off from school and turning off the cellphone.. hell, maybe ill even take a week off from the gym too :D

if its as good as im dreaming of it to be, ill take another week off :D

Why fake it? Just have somebody drop something heavy on your leg... as long as you have someplace to prop it up while you are on your computer, it is the perfect excuse for spending all of your "healing" time playing Civ V. "I just had to do something to keep from losing my mind. The only other option was sitting in front of the TV and watching soap operas all day!"

Note: This is just a JOKE!!! I am NOT responsible for any injuries or deaths that may occur from someone reading this post! Again, this is ONLY a JOKE!
