Soldier riding caravel from europe lost

I sent a caravel from europe to the new world with a soldier in it. When my caravel arrived in the new world it was empty. In the europe screen in the departure box there was my soldier, not in a ship but by itself, saying 0 turns to arrive in new world. It was stuck that way for the rest of the game, i wish i had taken a screenshot of it.

you should have a save where you can create a screenshot to post, or a save.
