is it someone that never have late game CTD?

i always have, on 2 different computers to.

im just curious, and if so.. what hardware do you have? and what modmods?

They happen. It's somewhat annoying. But just keep a decent amount of autosaves, or manual saves. It can usually be broken and passed thru if you change some things about the turn or at worst a few turns before the crash. Try doing things differently. The main cause of my long marathon crashes have been that the war has been going on for to long and just by ending it and peace out that have been enough. Alternatively get IGE and try some creative editing of where you think the issue is, you can always make some kind of guess based on where in the processing of the turn it crashes.

I honestly really wish someone could tell me what the problem with CTD's late-game are. Do I need better hardware?, internet?, is the multiplayer code just that bad?

Some CTDs are due to vanilla kernel code, some others are from VP (still in development. Sometimes very solid, sometimes less...) and others are from modmods.
Playing Huge, Marathon and many Modmods increases the risk of CTD's late game.

Do I need better hardware?
Definitly NOT.
- Any 2014's 4 cores CPU is more than enough but a separate >=2GB graphic card is mandatory.
- Civ5 is more dependent of CPU frequency than number of cores.
Just make sure your graphic driver is properly installed. This applies to all games.

To reduce the risk of CTD when playing Marathon/Huge:

Civ5 is a 32 bits software. So, the game is not able to address more than ~4GB of memory.
- Using a 64 bits OS with more than 4GB allow to optimize (just a bit) the 4GB memory space dedicated to Civ5.
- Reducing all graphic details make a big difference. Even with the best graphic card ever.
- VP is not a 'light' mod. You can use some additional modmods but not a ton.
- Reduce the number of programs/apps/processes/services that are active with civ5. This can make a big difference.

Played 2 games till Max Turn on Epic speed communitas Large map, 15-16 AI. December version with patches.
Many many(real many!) aircrafts, troops and ships. Resources was set to abundant. And after research all tech tree me and AI was able to build units as much as we need.
Tons of Mig-29, Advanced JetFighters, Super Carriers...
And there was no CTD(only after max_turn number, but that intended by Firaxis).

I usually play on duel or tiny maps with around 8 players so that shouldnt be the problem.

I also wonder, what is max turn numbers?
Can it be changed?

I like play late game with carriers and so on!

I noticed that i cant use cruise missles either, is it just me or bug? (Got CTD every time i tried an attack)

What is max_turn number ?
Depends on game speed; think it is 1500 on marathon, 750 on epic and about 500 or so on normal. Max turns to score victory that is. Its quite rare that I go that long cause the turns then take a really long time to play.

1500 on marathon
I went many times more than 2000. And even more when marathon/huge/DV

the turns then take a really long time to play.
As long graphic details are reduced, 'Next Turn' time depends on processor frequency rather than number of cores.

Too much of a warmonger and too low difficulty to get that late in the game.
But from videos I've seen difficulty is relevant, toying around on emperor like me and you are probably fine, on diety the AI builds sooooo many units that late game CTDs sometimes seems inevitable.
Mapsize matters and ofc additional mods.

Ohh, that's a very good point about more units in Deity.

I am one of the few lucky people who almost never experience CTDs. Neither on my older, but powerful laptop, nor on my newer, but less powerful one.

Although I get a lot of throttling on my less powerful machine after a few turns in later eras. I click a unit, I can issue commands by right click or by using hotkeys, and it does what I command, but the UI focus is still on the previous unit, sometimes for 10 secs or more, which is annoying. Same for the cities, they display the build queue and specialists for the previous city for several seconds What helps is switching to the strategic view and back, or restarting the game when it gets unbearable. I think it's something to do with the graphics, my GPU is quite a weak one.

I usually play until turn 600-700 on huge, epic, with a ton of extra mods, adding about 10 extra units.

I kill several hungry processes before starting Civ5 and I turn off the FOW clouds, shadows and animated oceans. So not the lowest settings.

Also, on my older, but more powerful laptop, I was getting completely stuck and unresponsive screen (but the game was running in the background, I could hear the sounds when issuing commands to units or clicking, etc.), if I was using Ethnic Units. Roughly from Industrial era. Removing Ethnic Units fixed it.
