Something is wrong with my laptop?

Well, I replaced the power input assembly. It did not work.

I'm going to start looking for a hd casing to salvage my stuff, and call HP about sending it in without the hd.

I had a similar issue with the laptop I gotten through my college. Each time I moved the power cord, the computer goes off. I narrowed the problem to a loose AC inlet plug to the laptop which was quite loose and would only work if in a favortable spot.

Lucy already replaced her AC plug (the power module that she's talking about)

Well, I'm an ass.

I dropped the $120 for a replacement power cable... and... dammit it worked. I've never been so annoyed by solving a problem. I'm still glad I tried the $30 solution first, and I'm still surprised that the problem manifested the way it did (powering off rather than switching to battery). Now at least I've got a spare power jack handy so I don't have to worry about busting one.

Oddly enough, when I got the replacement cable and plugged it in and saw the LED light up, it still wouldn't boot for me. Turns out that when I was reassembling, I didn't replace the RAM exactly the way it was. Luckily that was the problem with my other computer so I knew to try replacing it again. :)

Anyway, thanks again y'all.
