Well, I'm making this Star Trek mod, you know with different species and stuff. Well, I go to load it to my Civ III, and it works fine till I go to actually play it. That is, after I've picked my character and stuff.

And all at once it just...shuts down. It has done this on other mods I've tried to play also...so...is there some update or something I should install?

I have a Windows Vista 'puter, I just got it earlier this year. It's practically brand-new, and I'm at my wits end. Anyone got any ideas?

Bump. Anyone??

I know what it's like posting in the technical support forum

Spoiler :

are you sure you have all the components for the units or buildings in the script.txt?

I've used just all the units and things from the game, just renamed them, disabled some, etc. So there really shouldn't be a problem...but then again lol

Is that what you meant??...or am I being dense again??

And yes, this forum is awfully slow *ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ*

Well, (I'm not much of a modder, so I'm not 100% sure on this...but sure enought that I'm going to try to help.) for the units, I'm pretty sure you have to have the .ini files for all of the units correspond...if you just renamed them in the editor, then they should be fine.

Do you get any error messages? If not, then you might have the problem of Vista incompatibility :(

no, no error messages till I go to open it. Then of course, the standard "This program has stopped responding". I've never had any troubles before. So...

This is the wrong forum. Go to the Creation & Customization forum, there you will find much more help. :)

oh ok thanks :)
