In case you haven't been following Civ 4 at all (and if so, you've saved yourself some headaches)...
... the "world creation" screen features a reorchestrated version of Jeff Briggs' original Civ 1 theme music, and this time there's a voice-over of
In the beginning, the earth was without form, and void.
But the sun shone upon the sleeping earth

etc. -- read by Mr. Leonard Nimoy.

I thought it was a nice tip of the hat. Great nostalgia factor too.
:goodjob:

Ha, nice!
That's awesome!

Maybe I'll get civ4 at some point...but this isn't that point yet.

w00t. That is very cool. But I'm extremely happy with civdos and have absolutely no thought of switching to civ4 anytime soon. (Maybe after I become a civ2 addict and then onto civ3 will I think about it.)

Cheers for the info.

that's nice.

Oh, one other thing:
they brought back animated shorelines -- which is something I've missed since Civ1. (I mainly play Civ2.)

Of course, they animated darn near EVERYthing, which makes the game slow down big time-- but just thought I'd mention it.

Sounds good, I'm glad they've gone back to thier roots. Now all Civ 4 needs is the price to go down...
