I'm just wondering if we have any soul series players here. If your confused, I mean the games Soul Edge, Soul Calibur, Soul Calibur 2, and Soul Calibur 3.

If there is anyone this could just be a discussion thread for strategies and stuff. Personally, my favorite guy is Voldo. I love the little psycho with his crazy moves and stances.

I'm finally able to play Soul Calibur 1. Siegfried is my favourite character thus far, he's reasonably fast and packs quite a punch! I'm very much a beginner, though, and hardly know any special tricks.

Ah, I see, well you should get Soul Calibur 3 or at least Soul Calibur 2, I have never played Soulcalibur 1 though. And I think by Siegfried you mean Nightmare.

I had Soul Calibur for the Dreamcast, and it was one of my favourite games I have ever played. Eventually got the sequel for the PS2 and had regularly tournaments with my friends.

I play as Taki mostly. I remember the bulk of her moves and can quite easily annoy my opponent by darting to the side or straight over their head. If I feel extra-vicious I'll play as Ivy. Nothing like a long-range sword-chain...thing.

Wow, that's strang, I absouluetly HATE Ivy, her snake sword is so... weird! I'm comfortable with Voldo, Astaroth, and Nightmare in SC 3

Thanks for the suggestion, mythmonster, but i don't down a console that can run either game, and i'm not going to get one just for one game!
I never paid much attention to the story in Soul Calibur, but i think Nightmare is Siegfried's evil alter ego. They wield the same weapon play nearly identical.
Ivy's style of fighting is too strange for me. I never know whether to play close or long distance with her.
Sophitia is probably my second favourite character to play with. She has a better speed/damage ratio than Siegfried, but i find her range too short.
And as a Tekken player, i was delighter to find Yoshimitsu in Soul Calibur!

Ivy's sword is exceptionally odd to wield, but I took the time to practice with it. I do enjoy smashing down an opponents health from a long range.

Sophitia is probably my second favourite character to play with. She has a better speed/damage ratio than Siegfried, but i find her range too short.

How interesting, the person I usually played against in the original game used Sophitia. I became quite adept at defeating her with Ivy

I wouldn't think too much of it! The laws of narrative causality demand that the hero always meets the weaker henchmen first. It's still a pity, though, it seems like that person had taste and potential...
