Space Race easier but more time consuming? Domination easier but still takes hours?

I think transition economy is the way the game "ideally" unfolds based on the patter of unfolding of the civics (SE ones come earlier and CE ones come later).

A problem of mine is that when going for a PE/HE (Production Economy/Hammer Economy?), there isn't anything else to really transition into. Not that this is a problem by any means...

I would be interested to see your approach played out in BtS. My sense is it is still possible, but more difficult now that the GW gives a GSpy instead of GE. I tried your strat out a couple times and kept getting a pile of GSpies that don't give any hammers and limited beakers when settled.

AI does manage to build a rediculous amount of units.. how do they afford them?? yeesh. I would post a screenie but I took the city beforehand.

my enemies border city with me had a remarkable stack of units.. my spy let me look and for my screen we're talking 8 units wide by atleast 6 rows... late renaissance and this single city has over 65 units in it. why the ai didn't steamroll me I have no idea.

it took me 12 airships 20 cannons and 30 curisiers plus some other junk to oust that pile.. but that broke the back of the ai they only had a few defenders left in each city
