Space Wars development thread

That's what I tought first. But there are some problems with that.

1-When a city is built, it's cultural influence is small and because space tiles contains almost no ressource, the best tile to build the city would be the center one.
2-Every place on a planet is at the same distance from space.
3-An AI that would build it's first city in the center tile would die. It would not be able to build transports to colonize the other planets.

And many other reasons...
 
Oh yeah good point. I actually was thinking you had pre-placed cities where you would have units pre-placed, etc. Then you would fight wars.
 
I have started to put tech into a techtree. I have now completed to plan a first part of it. Here it is. Please say what you think and what techs you would add (this part is for the near future, the computer age, from today to 2050).

(edit) While I created the nano age, I added many things. And becase the full techtree is too large for the forum, I had to cut it into two parts. I hope it wont be too difficult to understand it.

I have continued working on the techtree and I have an overview of what nano age will looks like. Here it is.

I think I need biology / medicine and social tech. Anyone please give some ideas.

I have (almost) completed the laser techtree. It is just under the text. I also updated the other pictures. The hidden tech is "picometric optics".

I also need tech suggestions to fill the other ages. I only have 16 ideas for the rest. Please help me. And you, because you will get a better mod if you do this.

cloning have a section start up with cloning like at first have it like animals for food for an ultumate food source or something

heres another 1 for cloning have it only advalible if there a cirtan thing (if its posible) liek u were metioning librilsim and u can only get this tech if u stay libral if u reasurch it and then abondon libril then all the hard work in reasurch of clones would be down the drain
 
I think Artificial Intelligence should be split up into a few different techs and spread out more over the ages.

Specifically, some tech something like this;

Basic Networks
Neural Networking
Malleable Programs
Self-updating Software
[Machine Senses]
[Advanced Gyroscopics]
True AI
[[Machine Rights]]

Those techs in [] are only relevant for certain machines, such as robots. [[]] Is a related social tech, one which I recommend allows a civic such as 'Mechanical Emancipation'.

Also note that Gyroscopics would be necessary for any form of mechs - indeed, that is the major current obstacle to building them today, as we possess much of the other required technologies.

Further technologies might include (To be included wherever they fit, I suppose.);

Zero-friction Materials (Would permit some incredibly efficient machinery.)
Unified Theory of Physics (Obvious benefits)
Dyson Spheres (Would make some massive changes to a civilization.)
Supermassive Construction (For the above)
Nanometric Construction (Also for the above, and pretty much everything else in a few decade's time)
Cybernetics (Better soldiers, tougher workers, possibly perfect loyalty/mind control)
Nano-optics (For both spying and stealth camo.)
Synergistic Martial Arts (A more sociobiological tech, possibly leading to a new civic or building. A dojo which increased health, for example.)
Brain Mapping (Mind control, a step against many diseases.)
Gene Splicing (Allows creation of new lifeforms.)
Genetic Manipulation (Allows many diseases to be eradicated, and characteristics to be decided.)
Post-Birth Genetic Modification (Allows people to change their gender, skin color, height, weight, hair, eyes, number of fingers, toes, arms, and legs, and much more besides.)
Organ Cloning (Might already be covered, but definately a boost for health.)
Biological Replication (Extends cloning and genome mapping to most/all known lifeforms.)
Environmental Undertanding (Allows weather control/large-scale controlled environments, leads to terraforming)
Subatomic Matter Manipulation (Alchemy, in a word.)
Unified Religious Theorum (Don't know how this impacts on in-game religions, I'd suggest this be more a philosophy-oriented tech, perhaps reducing the effect having similar/different religions has.)
Kardashev Scale Types I and II Civilizations
Alien Contact (Would probably be best more as an event like circumnavigating the globe...)
Theory of Sentience (A globally accepted ideal on what qualities are required for a being to be declared sentient. Possibly tied in with Machine Rights.)
Sentient Rights (Similar to Human Rights, but extended to any and all beings which fulfill or surpass the criterea decided upon in the previous tech.)
The Answer (I suppose this would be one of, if not the, ultimate techs. The Answer, simply...)

heres an idea dont no if its possible but it uses the space elivator is it possible to make the space elivator be like sourt of transport from one planet 2 another
ex like if an outer planet is attacked and u have lots of units at yr home world u send renforcments thro sourt of like an airport
 
Monkeyman, it would help if I could understand what you're saying but your spelling isn't very good and your abbreviations aren't so hot either.
But I honestly like that idea. Maybe it should be a instant portal transport instead and transport troops to other places. Oh wait, Airports could do that with the same name also.

as for the idea the first idea was came first
then i thought of the airport but what i mean is to change the name of the air port to like space elivator and it will serve as the same purpose but u still have to transport troops normally in order to capture the citys like normal
 
oh, thats okay. I used to be a pretty bad speller also. Well, it wouldn't be called airport, it would be called space port or something like that. Space elevator doesn't really make sense to what the point of the elevator is.
 
but space port sounds like somthing that will create space units
like building them not transporting them half way across the map
 
how about this plantary transporter its a building that needs 2 be built before hand on 2 diffrent planets 2 use
an easy way to send troops from one planet 2 another it cant transport space ships of corse they can fly so only for ground troops
(wait r there gana be ground troops)

and there can be a completly diffrent transporter for planet 2 ship and ship 2 planet
or beater yet make the plantary transport a tech for the normal transporter
