Hit the F10 key. If it's all built, the launch button will be active. Click it and away you go. I hope I understood your question. :)

You also need to launch the ship before 2050 AD...

If you don't, thieves will steal your components and sabotage your ship. ;) j/k

I have the same problem! and i have completed my spaceship in the year 2030. I even saved my game that turn in case something went wrong, and just as i expected to se my completed spaceship appear on the Spaceship screen as it always dit automatically after each time a module was completed... Guess what happens... SUPRISE! NO Spaceship window pops up  Cant launch my ship
I have tried everything: F10, the "S" button on the little meny window bottom right corner of the screen... Nothing happens
and no confirmation that my last module was completed despite the fact the city that built it has switched to anther item! No confirmation or information that my ship was launched, (In case it launched automatically somehow  )

Have anyone else managed to build and sucessfully LAUNCH the spaceship? what happens when it arrives at Alpha Centauri? any cool animations???

If not... Houston we have a problem :crazyeye:
Can you say BUG ;) Please Firaxis fix this ASAP!

it might just be a glitch save and reaload to the point the turn just before you finished the last part andyes whne you launch the space ship there ia an animation thing

Journeyman:

I have the same problem too! I built the spaceship and finished the last component in 1926, and can't access the spaceship screen to launch the ^&*# thing. The 1.29 patch didn't fix the problem either. I posted something to this effect in the Tech Support forum, but they must've just thought I didn't RTFM, since nobody responded.

I've saved and reloaded numerous times, backing up by five turns. Still, nothing.

Does anyone have a possible solution to this? This game would be my first win on Regent, so it's kind of important. :D

Speaking for myself -- yep, darn sure. I held off the UN vote (since I would've lost), not enough territory held for a domination victory, etc.

Would it help if I posted the saved game later today, to see if this could be replicated on someone else's PC?

Is Space Race victory turned off? If you turn off the Diplomatic victory option, you don't even get the opportunity to build the UN; but if the Space Race victory is turned off, you can still build the Apollo Program and all the spaceshiup parts (IIRC) - you just can't launch.

Nope, all victory conditions were enabled. I don't mod or cheat, but I don't turn down any methods of winning either. :)

This is true for me also! this can't be coincidence this must be a bug!

Peso79... what operating system are you running? I run Win2000.
Which civ are you playing? i play as the Americans Patch 1.29f...

Most important of all... to all of you civer's out there that don't have this problem... Give me ALL your relevant details! Maybe we can figure out what's wrong or at least give Firaxis some important clues about this bug...

I am using 1.16 patch and i won a few space race and it work fine, there is a nice movie at the end. I was expecting to upgrade to 1.29 but i think i ll wait. Is this a general problem to everyone, does anyone won a space race with 1.29 yet?

Yeah, I have. Playing as Babylonians, Monarch, Standard map. Finished it around 1950 and launched it immediately when the spaceship screen came up showing me the Party Lounge.

Journeyman:

I'm on Win 98, on a Pentium II 350 MHz. No prior problems with Civ III, so I wouldn't think this is a driver issue. Playing as the French, if that matters.

The problem was existent for v1.21, but was still there after the upgrade to 1.29.

Attached is a .sav file, if anyone cares to try the file on their own PCs. This should be one turn before the Party Lounge is completed. Help!!

There be bugs. :crazyeye:

Happens exactly as described above. Load the save game and check the F10 screen. One turn to finish final component in Orleans. No access to F10 screen once the Party Lounge is complete.

The 1.29 patch does allow a space race victory - I got one this weekend. It's either a bug with your machine or you still have to build a component. I'll have a look at your save, but I'm at work at the moment.

*rubs eyes* Is that.......Ripley????? Back from the dead I haven't seen you for about 4 mos. since I ended my SG playing days.

OT: Who the hell needs a party lounge. Just buy some sedatives. :crazyeye:

And peso, that is one f***ed up game! you may want to officially report that one.
