Trying something new (K-Mod too uncomfy to play sadly) :)
Warrior Queen Boudi is stuck on her own island, but advisors warn her from contacting other civilizations..
"they will all hate us, untold past events destroyed any possible relations with whatever life may be out there"

How far can we go in an always war game, if we start alone and have time to build something up?
Settings give us a little help

Hopefully some fight each other, and they are not allowed to trade techs :)

I quickly checked that we are not on an unreasonable small island, but tried to look as little as possible..
i saw we have wine, but forgot everything else.

Plans will be different (we not want to meet AIs early via Optics lol), and winning unlikely.
So for this one medals can be achieved ~~
1 AI killed: Silver
2 killed: Gold
3+ which should mean winning: Superhero ;)

Silence before the storm, will be an experience no matter what and at minimum the buildup game can be fun.

Merci for all the likes, 800BC :)
Spoiler :
Try CoL or not (finished Mona)..hmmm..well i guess it's needed for CS anyways. Difficult skipping that here, not so bad Cap?
I also need some more detailed city plans now

I would have tried to keep that 1-tile island near Tolosa open as a settling opportunity. Would be great for trade routes.

It can still be settled, two tile rule doesn't apply because of the ocean(?). Interesting setup, what's the game plan here :D? Getting a religion would be nice... bulbing not so strong I guess?

Can you completely self-tech to something like Steel/Rifling without Oxford for example? Not much experience with AW.

I thought that was only when the new city tile is not in the big fat cross of the old city, but I might be wrong.

I looked in a test game, and yep can still settle islands even if they are in another cities bfc :)

Game plan, GS bulbing order is interesting here:
Philosophy
Chemistry
Fission
Fusion
Optics
Paper

..so could get CS for Bur, and still bulb Chemistry without Paper & Edu blocking.
Bulbing Philo first is tempting, i would then tech Alpha instead of trying for Confu and cities can build research (running out of useful stuff for hammers).
I think setting up strong GP generation will be important, techs like Alpha, Maths and CoL are all needed at some point (i like that part, in normal Iso games we lost variation and rush Optics :)).

Away from civ at the moment, but looks like an interesting challenge. Considering it's NTT, having a decent island + one isolated AI should make it fairly easy (for space). If the AIs are all on one big landmass then it's most likely unwinnable.

Might play this when/if I come back to civ :)

Turns out that even after Alpha & Maths, i will still be first for CoL and Confu oO
Aggressive AI must slow them down.

What now :)
Academy and self teching Philo would be an option, or CS first for Bur?

On first sight, Civil Service and Bureaucracy are usually very good. But here, at the moment, it seems like it gives +13 commerce (more soon, also a couple of hammers), not impressive.
How much would currency help? +5 (soon +6) from trade routes and building wealth is more efficient than building research, but that's probably not enough to be worth it.
Since you have to self-tech everything.

4 great generals so far on the other continent(s).

You would go out with one of their best songs ;)

No Space, Conquest or Domi only for me Pedro ~~
True on CS Dutchfire, Currency should def. come before.

Currently i like bulbing Philo and switching into Paci + 1 Reli only,
keeping slavery for a bit longer and switch into Caste together with Bur after Currency, probably sailing and then CS have been teched.
Costs some Anarchy, but golden age so early..nope.

Slavery helps whipping stuff like Temples or LH, Settlers (Island), normally we would not do this in an Iso game but i think i cannot skip building cities up here.

Temples are expensive, but help lowering gpt unit costs (Paci costs double, only -4 currently)..Bibracte will be ready for Bur despite whipping some stuff i think :)
2nd GS in 4t for an Academy.
Slow building galley (and settler in Bib probably), island city should be slightly gold positive but no hurry?

At least there's plenty of Great Generals being born abroad.

Isn't it a bit early to be building Barracks?

Quick update until 275AD,
after CS i teched IW (wanted to know Iron posi..well now i cannot build warriors anymore lol), now MC for forges and can start pre-building workshops.

First settler for island, another one for sheep (decent workshop spot when settled on copper?).
Coastal cities are growing out before specialists (good or bad idea?), i thought it's good having them bigger later.

Anyone have optinions on tech path, priorities and so on? :)
I still like double bulbing Chemistry, but not sure on Gunpowder path.
Also bulbing Edu and trying Lib would certainly be an option thou, AIs should be slower than normal.

How are you going to get your army on another continent? The seas will be full of AI ships.

860AD, i decided to double bulb Edu and 1x PP.
2 more GS in 10+ turns, can bulb Chemistry or Astro hmm..
i was shying away from Astro, obsoleting monuments happy but can get Whale with Optics so i think that would be okay now.

But now the big question for you guys, take Lib for Natio now?
Think i really have to, getting late :)
All those techs will be really useful later (Lib needed for Communism, PP nice commerce boost), not 100% sure on Natio but it's 1k more expensive than Gunpowder.
I already spent 4t too many on Engineering, not sure why i did that..still had Chemistry in mind i guess.
