Special Micro Challenge

Oh my! Thats so nice, I had just about given up since I could not improve to T74. In fact I did only manage to repeat T75 one time during all my trials. :)

Teching something "unnecessery" like med+priesthood had not crossed my mind at all, but ofcourse thats a good idea! We are squeezed for commerce and can get construction for the price of a marble wonder.

Will look at your save soon.
Well done! :)

I was wondering when you will discover the Oracle,
something i kept secret ;)

Interestingly this could shift intense commerce needs towards hammers now, build list getting longer (also failgold possible ofc).

I did a very quick try yesterday with early granary with the intent of letting a bigger share of the production go in the capital, but I'm less sure this is good now.
I however noticed that you found a religion when you get first to buddhism! :D
This solved a problem I have had with previous runs, that it took too long time to get the gold online.

@Swordnboard I notice that you build pyramids in Carthage, that is really interesting. Is this because most chopping was already done early in the game close to the capital to get 3 cities running?

Trying to mimic this strategy, I got to T76.
Was trying to build pyramids in capital though, and this became a bottleneck.

@Swordnboard If you could share abit of the micro you did at the very beginning, how you chopped and how you got your workers and first settlers out, that would be very valuable! :)

The beginning went like this:
5 turns of ph forest to finish a work boat
8 turns of fish (1 unimproved) to finish a worker
5 turns grow on fish and finish another work boat (with chop)
4 turns build second worker (with chop)
1 turn OF into settler (16 hammers)
3 turns grow, hammers into Stonehenge
4 turns finish settler (with 2 chops, gem mine is done). Think I inserted a 1T delay somewhere since the workers weren't quite ready to chop.

The third worker was chopped with 2 chops in carthage as the first build there (+5t of production). Haven shifted to Great Wall after the settler, I needed to chop it to avoid death by barbarians.

Hope that helps!

As for pyramids in Carthage, you got it on the nose! I used almost all of the Haven chops for workers, settlers, henge and GW.

For sure it helps!
In all of my 10+ tries, I have always built a second WB in capital after the first one. grown with unimproved fish + 4 turns improved to pop2. Then finished second WB with the second citizen two turns at forestedPH, then one turn either at lake or on gems, depending on if I wanted an extra hammerOF or an extra food in the bank.

Had never occured to me to build worker direcly at pop1!
Have you concluded that worker at pop1 is optimal?
I always built worker at pop3, working two seafood+lake.

Might be something with early micro that is off.
