Ok, I know it is a very small thing, but since this feature could be used quite frequently and that I believe it would not take much to set-up...
Instead of having the loading bar in the center with a black screen or the map in the background, why not have a topic(al ?) screen when loading screens and scenarios.
A bit a la Civ2 where the picture already put you in the spirit.
Some might say it would require some more art but since many already did that for Civ3/PTW/C3C start-up screens (since they are the only ones presently) I don't think it would be a problem. Now if you want that you must replace the start-up one and for "ever" (= until you replace it by hand).
I don't think it would need much coding to have the loading of a screen and the text when loading the scenario.
