Obviously he really, really, really, really, really wants a spell checker :)

Hey TF, found this at vbulletin.org.Spell Checker It is a spell checker. Don't know the specifics though because only members can view it.

Or you could just open word and check the spelling of the word that you want to use.

Man, that´s tough. What kind of antiques are you packing, Fluffy? ;)

333 mhz :( well it's not that my computer is that slow (though it is) but word seems exceptionally slow, even for Microsoft. and every time I open it that annoying 'repair word' window comes up and won't go away even after unistalling office twice. Then I click cancel on it and it crashes.

My life sucks.

Why don't we all just take our time a little bit and learn how to spell a bit better. ;) Not only would our english skills improve but less people would be targets for ridicule. The world would be a better place. :)
Seriously though, just think more, try a little harder, and stop relying on machines for everything.

Yeah... right... :D

Well I'm against everyone using a spell checker. If every single post had exact grammer and spelling, no mistakes whatsoever, then this fora would be boring. Everybody would be like robots. If no one in life ever made any mistakes then life would be boring. Like on some show on BBC 2 a couple of weeks ago. Cars have been made so that they drive themselves, making crashes almost impossible. But no one wants them. People want to be able to crash, they want excitement and not everything to be perfect.

Urgh, that post sounded almost meaningful for me. ;)

Fluffy, you get a "repair word" window when you start it? Never happened to me. Maybe you should try reinstalling. Or reformating, then reinstalling. :)

On topic: I don´t think a spell checker would help that much, in my experience you need to know both spelling and grammer to sort out all absurd changes the spell checker tells you to do. I have seen plenty of examples when a spell checker has made a text far worse than it originally was only because the user knew spelling/grammer so bad that he relied on everything the spell checker suggested.

How about the old reliable - the hardcopy form of an English dictionary? At least helps in some exercise of your limbs. :)

Fluffy, Outlook Express also has a spell checker. It may open faster than Word on your comp. :)

I wish  this is ms, can't expect it to improve :( Actually it does seem to open a bit faster...no error messages :) thanks Tf

A little off topic, but if I "Rejuvenate my love life" by clicking on the banner at the bottom of this page, will it put a nickel in your pocket TF? Or only if I purchase whatever miracle product they are selling? I never got a satisfactory answer on that. :)
