Look at how many sales they do and then look at how many people have posted in this thread. Plus games dont really have the same issues because I would bet on that 70% of sales of civ 6 went to new players and players of civ5. I would only bet on 10% might be players of the entire series or atleast before civ4.
Also have to think about games like xcom where they were very sucessful and they seem to be enjoyable. I cant say much more because I have never played them but I also dont see their faults making news headlines like the typo did several weeks ago.
I am glad the patch hasn’t been released just yet. I started a game as Japan last night, and went all in on Magnus. I want to use him fully promoted and all one last time before he is nerfed.
On a related note, I actually used Victor in the same game too! I had a surprise joint war from Nubia, my neigbor to the south, who decided to use her wonderful horde of Pitati archers on a small, distant coastal city I thought was well protected by close CS neighbors until she used Amani to steal one away. It could have been bloody, but for a governor title I received at just the right moment. I thought Victor could help keep me safe while my army marched to its defense. I easily shredded through the ten Pitati and several CS swordsmen with Victor manning the walls. Go Victor!!

Maybe, but my spider senses make me think they are going to do another wave of daily updates.
EDIT: I just noticed this "new" build is actually a rollback. I think this confirms the theory that they are contending with a big bug. I really doubt the patch will release tomorrow now.
They reverted it back to the seventh QA build in the series from March 29th.
Another thing to take notice of; they aren't taking the "Release it on time but with bugs. We can fix it in the next patch." approach. They released last summer's patch with some bad bugs knowing they could fix them in the autumn. This might imply that they are planning on not having any more patches for a long time, like more than a quarter.

I've been doubtful of seeing DLC between expansions. This seems to confirm my suspicions. To me, at least. I'm sure everyone has their own interpretations.

Right. Because there are more series regular civs yet to be introduced than can fit in another R&F-sized expansion. And if there isn't more DLC, they need to be introduced somehow. Unless they plan to thin the herd, in which case there will be forum riots.
Also, this is a nice round number:
Base game civs (18) + Aztecs (1) + DLC civs (7) + R&F civs (8) + xp2 civs (8?) + xp3 civs (8?) = 50
As they go through the process of squashing bugs, balancing power, and introducing changes, they submit game builds to the 2K overlords for quality assurance (beta) testing. Each game build probably reflects feedback from 2K QA on the previous build.
Dont really mind if there is a slight delay. The weather is way to hot in the Netherlands to be playing video games at the attic at 28 degrees tomorrow.
I would get way more frustrated knowing i could play an interesting patch but i couldn`t really, as me and my gpu would melt.
