Keep in mind, you can usually keep going with games in progress even if a patch comes up, however there's a chance a lot of things could get screwed up. So you can always start a game knowing that there's a strong chance your world will experience a large "earthquake" mid-game that shakes up the calculations

Yeah I figure it's fine if it drops in the middle of the game. I just run without mods just in case, and I'll pick up mods again after the patch drops, if it drops sometime this year. The patch doesn't seem like it will change enough that it will have huge impact in the middle of the game. Except perhaps if you are playing as England.

I still don't know the details of the religion affecting loyalty mechanic. My current game I currently do not have a religion.

If the patch drops today it would annoy me more than if it takes another week.
Pillars of Eternity 2 unlocks in a few hours. That will satisfy my gaming needs for a while.

From Sarah comment I believe that they will first announce release date and then publish the patch. As they have not provided any new information on social channels I would say that patch is not going out this week. At best we can expect patch release date to be announced this week.

From Sarah comment I believe that they will first announce release date and then publish the patch. As they have not provided any new information on social channels I would say that patch is not going out this week. At best we can expect patch release date to be announced this week.

They could easily release the patch notes one day and have the patch itself be released anywhere from a few hours later to the next day. Unless if they're including more into it (ie. a new leader), they don't need to give a lot of notice or do a ton of social media for it.

I’ll say an announcement at 16:00 CET followed by patch notes and patch release on same day. Could still be this thursday.

... or maybe they are laughing their heads off reading all the nonsense that we have already written here while waiting for the godforsaken patch, that they don't want to stop having fun, and they will only release the patch when this thread is closed...or we stop writing fun stuff... but how? How do we stop writing fun stuff when there is no "patch info" to talk about? No clues, no hints, no DB changes, nothing...
