OK guys, my computer crashed and I lost all the work I had done on the update so far. So it's gonna take a bit longer.

Let that be a lesson. Save OFTEN.

You ended up with a good turn. Don't complain. :p

Turn 2

Economy raises:

Gustav: Success!
Josef Stalin: Success! Barely, though.

Officer Searches:
Josef cel Frumos: Success! You have a new minister named Zladko Vladcik.
Nicolai: Success! Your new officer is a master warrior by the name of Enrico Cataloni.
Shrubbery: Success! Maria del Rio is your new General, as well as your wife.
Suliman: Success! Your new officer is a skilled orator called Mohammed al Swahiri. You were unable to find a suitable wife, however.
Phillippe: Failure. You were unable to find someone worthy of leading your armies.

Item Creation:
Arthur: By tying oil-soaked rags to his archers’ arrows, Arthur has successfully created Fire Arrows, highly useful in siege situations.
Alexandra: Alexandra has crafted a beautiful Emerald Necklace (+2 Charm).

Welsh Rebellion dealt massive blow!

With General William Braveheart’s unsuccessful attempt to draw a surrender from the rebellion in new Stalintopian officer Arthur Brewyn’s landholdings, reinforcements were sent to the small garrison at Castle Brexham. However, at the initial reinforcement of only 100 men, the rebels were emboldened enough to launch an attack on the castle. Little did they realize that this was in fact a ploy, and the remainder of Braveheart’s troops had surrounded the town and closed in from all sides. The rebels fought bravely, but were cut down by William’s better-trained and better-armed troops. Some managed to escape, but the greatly reduced numbers remaining are fragmented and disunited.

Welsh Rebels: -200 men
William Braveheart: -75 men

Constantinople votes to join the Ottoman Empire!

With promises of serving as Sultan Sulimain’s royal council and monetary reparations, the Constantinople ruling assembly vote 15-9 in favor of joining the growing Ottoman Empire. The European resistance movement agreed to lay down their arms, but made it clear they would not hesitate to secede if the promises of religious tolerance were not upheld.

Ottomans: +Constantinople

Contact established between Wallachia and the Ottomans!

A Wallachian ambassador arrived in the newly Ottoman city of Constantinople, opening contact between the two nations, that, if both parties are willing, could be turned into a trade agreement.

New threats to Swedish Empire!

Sweden’s previously uncontested influence over the Scandinavian region now has competition. A new Norweigan kingdom has appeared under the rule of General Bjorn the Strong, and is quickly expanding. In addition, Germany has declared Denmark as its territorial right, openly defying Sweden in doing so. Whether Sweden will retaliate against either challenge to its authority remains to be seen.

Mongol horde appears in Eastern Russia!
News is spreading across Europe like lightning of an enormous swarm of Mongolian warriors beginning to make its way into the expanses of Russia. The horde dwarfs any of current nations’ armies, but is poorly organized at this point. The question is not if this horde will attack, but how soon, and which early nation it will prey upon first.

Random Events:

Alexandra is pregnant! The baby will be born sometime next year.
Castile gets several small villages in its new territory, who pay gladly pay tribute to King Phillipe’s rule. (+1 banked eco)
Sweden gets a small band of new recruits. (+50 men)
Roman soldiers find some valuable art left over from the destruction of the city. (+2 banked eco)
New soldiers from Constantinople present their new rulers with their finest arms. (+200 swords)

Maptastic!

Great update. and for the record, i never liked norweigans or germans in the medieval age. :D

I'm the only one that didn't find an officer, Grr! Not sure, but can I not expand my territory when I search for an officer as well as not spend eco?

As long as you are not with the expeditionary force, you can take domestic actions and expand in the same turn.

Can we build ships?

Also, when we order an officer to train troops, is it just his troops or everyone's troops?

At the moment, the only ships anyone can build are galleys, which are produced at a rate of 5 per gold plus 1 for every 5 Politics of the one building them. For instance, an officer with a perfect 20 in Politics would build 9 galleys per gold. They can only be built in cities with ports, obviously.

Training only applies to the men under the training officer's command.

K guys, I have tomorrow off of work, which means that if I get orders, I'll have all day to make a good update. Hint, hint.

OOC: I just can’t seem to be able to get inspiration to write something in this nes…

Alexandra, Queen of Sweden looked outside of the castle and into the city of Stockholm, partially in ruins. It did not glitter at all, but was frankly depressing. She stroked her stomach and thought about the future of her child, seeing such a grim scene. Stockholm would glitter, not with bright lights, torches, or of the march and glory of her armies. That was her husband’s job. But she would make it glitter in another way, of culture and literature. She, Alexandra Kerensky Vasa, would make sure her name would stay, as the bringer of culture once more into the barren “wastelands” of the north.

She would build theaters, libraries, schools, rebuild the ruined structures of the city, and bring it to its true potential. The Capitol of the Future Scandinavian Baltic Empire had to look nice of course, but looks wasn’t the only thing that mattered. It was intimidation, how many people would attack a splendid city brimming with wealth and radiating strength? Along with wealth comes power, and anyone could see where the power of Sweden would come from. Diplomacy shall rule, or if u prefer to think of it, espionage.

Relax, Alex, I'm trying to speed this up to the more exciting parts. Then you'll have plenty to write about. :p

OOC: i'm just saying, expansion is soooo slow :p

:bump: update?

Panda, if you don't get orders in soon, I'm NPCing you again.

Same goes for ThomAnder, although I'm willing to bet Josef could just submit his.
