Hello guys, Is there any way to combine / stack miliary units for a combined / stack attack during the game. Currently, I simply manually attack a target with each individual unit. I have had a quick scan of the manual but I can't find the information i need.

Thanks

Welcome to CFC. :)

If memory serves, you can use a stack-goto command [ctrl-j or the screen button that looks like a deck of cards]to make a stack of units attack a given target; I'm not sure whether this will use a movement point for any surplus units in the stack.

G = go to (for that unit)
X = go to (for the whole stack)

I use it a lot with workers, dunno if it works for attacking a unit also. Be carefull though, because most of the times you want to finish with an Elite unit. Not with a regular, with the chance of losing that unit.

There is, if you move a stack of troops into a city, the entire stack attacks because they are trying to move in. I dont see it a being too effective, you dont get the choice of which unit attacks first etc. I only use it if I have a stack of the same unit.

Yea stack movement can be used as stack attack, but the stack needs to be next to the city/unit.

I guess I stand corrected. I never knew that stack movement could be used that way. Do the units all attack at once, or individually? I would generally only consider it a "stack attack" if all units attacked at once.

one at a time... it's an option you should forget as soon as you learn it ;)

Hmmmm, seems if you use this, you don't get to choose the order in which they attack.....like you would if you did them all individually. Seems that this might save time in the short run, but with lost units due to bad attack sequence, would actually take longer to conquer long term.

You attack with a stack that way and you might see your covering pike be the first attacker against, say a musketman. Not exactly tactically brilliant. Almost anything done carefully with forethought beats doing anything automatically.
