A great mod that I've recently dled again, but to my dismay I get CTDs frequently, now always when fighting a siege. First I was Castille, and it would crash whenever I tried fighting a battle outside of Murcia. I asked for help on the TWC forums but nothing, and I can't figure out how to find the actual log to show that, and no one there has helped me with that either! Then I reinstalled it along with re-dling the 6.2 patch, because I wasn't sure if it wasn't corrupted the first time, and started a game as France. Well what do you know, I get a CTD trying to fight a battle for Rennes. It always crashes while loading, seemingly as it's about to open up the battle screen. They've always been important battles that I can't just auto fight, and funnily enough my family member always dies, whether it's the siege of Rennes or Murcia. So since I'm getting no help at TWC I'm hoping one of you noble CFCers would be able to help me out, if only by telling me how to get the log so I can post it at TWC and at least wait for a while in the hopes someone will see it.
And maybe, one day, I can play it cleanly. I really enjoy it otherwise, but if it keeps doing this I can't go on and will just give up on it, there's no point in trying to work around a game that won't let you play the way it's supposed to be.

Huh I had a few crashes but nothing more than vanilla.

Although you've probably checked it. Other than that I don't know.

EDIT: Also, hugely important, when you install the game, do NOT install the included and optional BYG's mod that is in the installer, as it is broken (and those submods have been updated since anyways).

It happens a lot, and not just at places I can always auto battle away, but at critical moments when I need to be in control. It also crashes at random times on the menu.
I didn't put on any of the submods that came with it and I don't run vista.
I posted in the Bug Reports for 6.1 thread, bug report sub forum (obviously?)
I'm thinking of just re DLing the whole thing, and hoping that will help, somehow.


edit: So I erased all SS files from my comp, and went to re-download the whole thing, and what do you know, it's not working! I'm so glad SS is just a mod now or I'd be pissed!

You might have to reinstall M2.

THe game will crash on the menu at times, such as clicking too many faction icons, or changing screens from campaign to custom battles, the SS team has no idea why that is hapopening.

The main menu crashes aren't bad, because they're easily avoidable. They suck, but once you know what to do it's fine. It's the fact that I can't play any siege that's a problem- i always CTD- and that makes the game all but unplayable. I re-downloaded each file individually, to make sure, but that hasn't changed too much.
So if reinstalling M2 is the last thing I can do I guess I'll have to do that! It's a shame though, if this thing ran fine it'd be great

I did this awhile ago, but for an update:
I reinstalled all M2TW+ patches and having reDLed the mod and it's patches, installed them all. Did it cleanly and it's running just fine, finally! Definitely worth it, further updates would be nice, and while there are some nice mini-mods that may iron some of that out I'd like to see some changes in the next version, but nothing that's making the game at all unplayable.
So, my suggestion- DL it!

İ have got SS 6.0 and this is best mod for medieval II I have seen realistic war and realistic crusade and jihad.

I also like the Sicilian Vesper mod which is kind of similar to SS.
