Just want to know what speed is actually the most standard for this mod? I have seen throughout various posts that a large variety of people play on Snail. Isn't that extremely long; hell, snail is above Marathon. Or is it because that is truly the best speed in terms of balance and defined gameplay? Can anyone shine a light on this?

And I bug the team to keep Epic and Normal as viable play speeds.

Epic yes, but i dont like anything below that, just doesn't make sense except for AutoPlay tests :p:rolleyes:

I have accidentally played on the fastest speed (Blazing, or whatever it is) and it was rather amusing for a while - although this was with R2R rather than C2C. There was a ton of stuff to do every turn since it just flies through the builds (assuming you have multiple production turned on) once your city gets a few buildings in it and the population goes up a point or two. I recommend giving it a shot up though at least tribalism (which doesn't take very long) just to see how it goes at least once.

keep in mind you cant compare it to regular civ

To me, snail feels like normal speed in regular civ. You can expect research times around 8-10 turns, give or take at certain parts of the game.

Its just that there are A LOT more techs per era to go through, so each turn spans less years.
