Star Trek - Battle for Alpha Quadrant PBEM

The Federation founded an outpost. It was baptised New Gaul.

The Neutrals were persuaded to share the technology of Positronic Brain with us.

Exploration reached new frontiers.

*Techs traded with the Orions and the Neutrals

Koby, why can't I build android plants ???

Oh, and something else… dispite the civpedia, there appear to be no M1-planets that produce shields. Is that correct?

I have positronic Brain, I CAN build Data the Android.
And I have cities that have Gravity Dynamo.

The Gold diamond M1 planet does not produce a shield in my version...

Maybe I DL-ed a wrong version?

AFAIR, there is only one common version out nowadays, version 2.1. The 2.0->2.1 upgrade was cosmetic so unless you are using a 1.x version from a long time ago, I don't think its a version problem.

Android plant is actually hydro powerplant. I wonder if it has to do with proximity to rivers? I always thought that being next to the sea was good enough. Its been so long, I don't know if I did it intentionally or it might be a bug that went un-noticed all these years. Let me experiment when I get home.

As for the M1 planets, I am sure there is a mineral bonus cause I can see it for my own cities plus there is no way to change the perimeters for this bonus as it is hardwired into the game engine.

You are quite right on both counts

It is quite impossible to build android plant as there isn't a single river on the entire map. However, Data the Android does give you extra shileds in every city. Guess you'll have to make do with Replicator Plants.

There is no shield bonus on the M1 planets with golden diamonds as seen from the city screen. This is contrary to what the info window tells you when you double click an M1 tile. I don't understand it myself but the same applies to everyone so its not a version problem.

I can live without the extra shield (have done for ages ;) ) and I cannot afford the android plants anyway (yet).

I have downloaded it from the link you posted earlier, so I thought it was unlikely to be a version issue.

game on I would say :goodjob:

Looks like the Feds are taking the warmongering path..

What does the pop-up mean?

Am I right assuming this pop-up is NOT of influence in this PBEM, since we DO play the 'No Win Scenario'?

What does Note 2 mean?

Let it be known that the Federation is NOT on a warmongering path...
