Star Trek Timeline. ;) This should set a few people straight.

Enterprise is based in 2157. BEFORE the Federation, BEFORE the Prime Directive.

Federation Formed 2161

TOS is based in 226?.

TNG is based in 2365-2372.

DS9 is based 2371-2377.

VOY is based 2377-2384.

These years are just close guesses but are consistant with the timeline.

Enterprise is a prequel....as it based BEFORE TOS. Thus the ships blow and look like Subs. ;) And you will also notice that they only refer to Earth as their planet...not the UFP. And they dislike the Vulcans.

"TOS is based in 226?."

they took the airdates 300 years in the future,so it´s 2266-2268

"TNG is based in 2365-2372."

the series was from 2364-2370,ST VII in 2371.

"DS9 is based 2371-2377."

nope,starts 2369-2375

"VOY is based 2377-2384."

again partly parallel with DS9 like TNG from 2371-2377

Though I completely disagree with 6, I feel obliged to point out that you misunderstood him. He did not imply that Enterprise followed the others; he said that people TODAY know not to mess with pre-warp cultures, so archer in 160 years should have better sense.
And by the way, o tyrant of maize, is there any way you can remove the ds9 votes from the poll? They are obviously the result of diseased minds and should not be counted

The definition of what "everyone knows" may change in 160 years. Back in the Victorian Age, it was considered desirable to "mess with" primitive cultures. The conventional wisdom of the day was that they would benefit from being brought up to modern standards. Today that sort of thinking is unfashionable, but attitudes could change in the future. And change back again, resulting in the Prime Directive.

Even within Federation times, attitudes towards interference change. In the original series, the Prime Directive was mostly observed when it was being broken. Look at the number of times Kirk and the Enterprise stepped in and gave native cultures a yank in the right direction. Contrast this with the Next Generation series, in which Picard and his crew observed the Prime Directive much more scrupulously.

I stand corrected. ;)

But I said that mine were "close guesses".

Thanks for the info Kennelly!

OH!! That's what Six meant......I see.....

TOS
Voyager
TNG
DS9

I havn't seen Enterprise yet so I won't include that. And TNG might have beat Voyager if it didn't have Wesley Crusher in it - Q is the beat character in all of the series. :)

This was about 1995-1996, though...before "Futurama."

most of you dont like DN9? I loved it. it was full of politics, and that stuff... I guess I'm just into that... TNG had alot of Federation-Klingon-Romulan triangle politics, but thats about it. the original only really had "me blow up klingon, klingon blow up me" and voyager had, "Hi, wanna be my... c-ya" but DS9 was pretty cool. I esopecially liked Winn. now, she's a real politician :)
