That's possible, I have animated a little bit and added some other effects.

Awesome :eek: apart from that I don't like exploding starfleet ships ;)
 
I've gotten the Borg Sphere reduced in size and designed for space travel. when you try it in a game set it for at least 4 to 5 movement points (maybe 6) cause that's the best distance in travel to see the entire animation squence in action.

Could someone please post a preview of the death and run sequences for this unit. Those are my two best animations and I'd like some comments. I just don't know how to post them myself. Thanks. :borg:

If anyone wants another "minor" civ in the game. I've already have a list of all the eight digit names that could be used for the Binars.
 
I still think the sphere is too big compared to the cube, maybe you can make it a little smaller, and the cube a little bigger?

About the animated gifs: use this tool to convert .flc to gif animations
 
Ok, I made a list what city improvements and wonders could be in our mod, and what came to my mind...
I thought about one race specific wonder...had ideas for all but cardassians... also I weren't able to find new names for small wonder, some great wonders and a few city buildings.
Suggestions would be nice :D
I will attach the list, it's a .doc, so you ebst open it with MS Word...

BTW: About races, what about Ferengi? We can't leave the (best ?) traders of the galaxy out ;)

You replaced my Iconian Gate with a Transwarp Hub, but I think the Gate fits the effect (airport) more, as you can transport units from one planet to another within one turn, no matter of the distance. Transwarp still needs some time till arrival. You may say the gate would be too small for spaceships, and with mainly spaceship units the effect would be poor, but the gate could be some kind of space station too, don't has to be that small gate we know from DS9. It's just based on the iconian technology.

oh, and transwarp sounds like borg ;)

Another thing: Stock Exchange=Ferengi Trade Post? I don't think thats a good idea, Ferengi should be a major civ with a civ-specific wonder called "Ferengi Trade Guild" (maybe with effect of Trading company or wall street), something less special for a city improvement would be better...just my opinion

EDIT: Oh, and is a Dilitium moon buildable? It's bit weird...isn't it?
 
I wasnt thinking on the Airport one. Umm... I'm not sure about the Stock Exchange. And on the Dilithium moon, I think I meant Dilithium Collector. ;) Sorry for all the mistakes. I was half crazy when I did it. I had just gotten back from Return of the King :D
 
I've been working on my Borg Cube.

I've tried to make it larger. I've got two sizes. The first almost fills the entire isometric square. The second is the largest size possible to fit inside the selected unit circle.

Please view and let me know which size you feel would be appropriate. I will then continue with animations for that size.

After we get the Cube size taken care of. I'll move on to finalizing the Sphere.

Okay, topic shift....

Major Culture groups: Asian, American, European, etc...
How should we group the StarTrek civs into similar culture groups so that their cities or starbases or whatever look appropriate for that civ? Obviously the Borg would be different than Romulan or Federation or any of the others. Something to think about...

i've made a few things for that, like a DS9-fortress of some kind, a starbase and a few resources (wormhole, a very bad ketracel white and a few more)

about the Civ-colours: maybe it would be nicer (not that i don't like it, because i really do like it ;) ). But maybe you could make the warp-nacelles the civ-colour, instead of something on the ship itself.

The civ-colour really don't matters, as each race has an own set of units, which look completely different... :)
 
I don't like the idea of the Borg as barbarians. Simply cause I really want to play the Borg civ. I think the barbarians should most likely be the Orion Trade Syndicate. That would be because they are not a race, but a front for a behind the scenes pirate operation. The Borg at least have a cultural significance, their own ships, and are a greater threat than Barbarians can provide. Plus the Borg have a region of space under their control. Whereas the Orion Trade Synidicate (Pirates) operate within the borders of multiple civilizations.

However, when my Borg units are finalized I'll gladly share then with you for use in your B5/ST mods.
 
I think you're simplifying it a bit just to rename the old improvements into new versions. For example, the harbour adds food, increases the strength of ships and allows trade over sea squares. You could have the veteran ship-production as being a shipyard improvement, and make the trade-allowance into the spaceport improvement.

read the file again, I removed food production from Harbor/Spaceport and made that a new city improvement (orbital farms). And most buildings don't have many effect to seperate, so all you can do is add buildings with the same effect/increades effect of already existing ones. (for example giving the ferengi another trade increasing building like bank, the bajorans another like temple and the humans another like library would be an idea...can be worked on)
Apart from that, I just used the original buildings as a base for what buildings we could use
 
I did read it properly- I only mentioned the harbour's food-givingness because that's one bit of what it does- I didn't meanto say that you hadn't changed anything about the file, I just think it's a bit of a simplification at present. There's one flag for small wonders (?) that says you need elite ships to be able to build it for example, which would have thought would be a pretty neat aspect to play around with here...
