You could set the Space to have a global warming effect of none

I hope that this version is of a good size and looks fairly realistic.

I'm thinking of using either a smaller cube or a small sphere as the "worker" ship. Wondering about having the tractor beam double as a "remote terraform" beam. What do you think?

Looking through my SFC3 files & stuff. I can see stuff like top & side & perspective views of most ships. But the 3d files that the game uses to render the ships are in .x and .mod files. I don't think these will work with Civ 3.

Armada I has nothing either (I haven't reinstalled Armada II since my hard drive crashed last year) :(. But if anybody needs a pic of a ship for comparison or something. I'll get it up as soon as I can! :D

If I get another Star Trek game, I'll be sure to look through it's image files. FYI, I have Elite Force I. But that has no images except of Voyager (Intrepid Class). So unless we're going to go into high detail on some of the Fed. ships that won't be much help. But I've got a great library of ship pics, and I can always take a screenshot of the game if there isn't a pic avaliable ;)

Our main factions should be: UFoP/Humans, Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, the Dominion, the Borg, Bajorans, and perhaps a Delta Quadrant race or two... maybe the Hirogen (if any of you watched Voyager, my favorite series) or the Kazon...

Actually, if you read the DS9 Relaunch books-- sanctioned by Paramount-- Bajor joined the UFoP in Unity . :)

-- local DS9 nut. ;)

Also, are the units from Away Team useful at all? Good infantry units for various Federation species, Klingons, Romulans, Borg, and Vulcans.

(UFoP units include Trills, humans, Bols, a Betazoid, and an Andorian.)

...and klingons and federation formed an alliance after Undiscovert Country...

but anyway, could all of thoise who want to make the mod tell what are they good at so we could get sharing jobs.

I think that omega particle is better, but it should be able to be cleaned up, but that would take very long time.

...and that that i know away team doesnt use 3d models am i correct?

Vulcans, arent they in UFoP?

The Vulcans, I believe, are in UFoP.

@Glorfinder- I don't think that we should have the Klingons in UFoP because even though it looked like the Romulans & UFoP were going to be allies or something at the end of Nemesis, theres still the Klingon Empire, Romulan Empire, & UFoP... i dont think that we should include such a major race within another one. But maybe the UFoP & Klingons can share some units.

Nah, Klingons and UfoP are too different, imagine a Klingon fleet with B'rel, Negh'Var and Sovereingn class ships...bah :crazyeye:

wouldnt the federation and klingons be in at least a locked alliance, especially after fighting together for so long in teh dominion war. the romulans should still be separate, since they didnt seem to get into the war with the allies, they were jsut theyre for their own reasons.

Much better! But still the death.flc lloks a bit weird, with those parts that fly away from it...maybe if you leave them out.

Locked alliances should depend on the scenario, in a dominion war scen Klingons and Humans should be allied, but in a 23rd century scen not ;)

Perhaps it would be better if the cube would sort of spin slowly and break apart as it falls down ;) Just a suggestion.

I know these are getting better, but I don't have a program that will allow me to do incremental rotations. In essence all I'm making are static units with animations that happen to them and around them. I can redo the death without the flying parts. However, I wanted to show it breaking apart somehow. Keep the ideas flowing...

Anyone know of a good image program that works with PCX files (that doesn't have a 7 hr download with a 56k like the PSP demo)? The one I've got has 11 days left in my trial period.

Oh, whoever has the ground units (a few posts up) I'd like to see the Borg units. I want to try doing a few for a land scenario.
Thanks....

Leave it the same, except have the pieces instead of flying off, fall downward and gradually fade away.

When we made our scenario....we had 4 eras.
Early Warp, Warp 5, Modern Warp, and Transwarp. The Borg were heavly handicapped in the Early Era....but achieved Transwarp before the Transwarp era. We also had the map made using water, so the ships could only go so far depending on the engines.

We had 6 seperate tech trees made, encampassing all 4 eras. About 25-30 techs per race. And anywhere from 10-15 ships per race. Although the Borg only had 8 I think....most of which were cube and sphere variants.

Unfortunately....I can not find all my sheets, and I fear they may have been thrown out this fall, but if you want, I'm sure we can recreate these trees and units.

So does anyone want me to do it?

Edit: Ahh...couldn't find the sheets, but I found a spreadsheet with all the techs. :) Now...lets see if I cans find the units.

We will need new civilopedia icons for techs, so I think, instead of making 100 or more icons, we could categorise the techs and make for every category an icon, that would decrease the number of graphics we have to create. And we can make the tech tree as complex as we want, without worrying who can make all that graphics...
I was bored, so i took pics from BotF, and made some tech icons.
I used the 6 categories BotF uses:

- Biotechnology
- Computers
- Construction
- Energy
- Drive
- Weapons

After changing the size, and putting them on a new background I got this:
