No it's not compatible with the latest patch. The link for 0.6 is on the front page at the bottom.
 
ok, will it become compatible with the patch in the futur?

And are there any links to some screenshots?
 
At the bottom of post 2 there are screenshots and the next version 0.65 (ETA April 24) wil be compatible with 1.61
 
Hey Civmansam, this is just an idea but could you update the first two posts to look more organized like your Mystical Asia thread?

I'm slowly rolling along on loading screens. Take a look at the layers I made in my last post.
 
Just in case anyone didn't know, Dual has updated all of his fighter units to support team colors. :goodjob:
 
I was translating it to italian, but Firaxis released 1.61... I'll continue when compatible mod will be out

Looks great Dhamon! :goodjob: I don't know Italian but I do know a little Spanish so I was able to read some of it since they are both descended from Latin.
 
what about my thought about a way to do terrain? I don't know how to mod Civ4, so I don't know how feaseable it is to do that.

I sent someone a PM asking how to do that but he hasn't gotten back to me, but it is completely possible.
 
ok, cool. Although I know there would be an issue as far as land goes because the scenario I was thinking of was back in Civ2, and wasnt really a mod, and the scenario was designed to have many tiny islands in a vast 'space' ocean. so I know there would be an issue with using land because otherwise things would look pretty strange if you wanted to make a pangaea map or a non-archepelago map. But since you guys already have a whole bunch of stuff in, I'm sure something can be figured out.
 
We're going to do the "space ocean" that you talked about. Planets will be like islands with a city or two on them, and resources with asteroids will be worked like fish.

They could be planetary maps. Instead of having "Continents" as a map type, we could just call that map type a planet and there ya go. The starfighters could be air units and the capital ships could be battleships "in orbit" attacking via planetary bombardment. See how that works?8-)

btw, how do you nuke someone? I just won a game via Culture and went to Worldbuilder and gave myself a crapload of nukes, because I've never gotten to use them yet. The game refused to let me nuke a city, even though I had selected several of them seperately and left (and right) clicked on a spot to nuke. I got the mushroom cloud cursor but no attack. What did I do wrong? (1.61 patch btw)

Good to see you're still working on it :)

About civics, don't stress about them yet: they can always be added later. The tech tree doesn't need to be 100% complete now, and it is obviously subject to change. We'd just like to get a majority of it done now so we have something fairly stable to work with, which we can add to later :)
 
Good thing it doesn't have to be the definitive one lol, there's no way I can make the non-military part of the tree last beyond the third or fourth age, and even then the govt/production stuff would still be horribly mixed up.

As for the Vong, I'm considering using their shaping cortexes as techs to help prolong their military development.

yea, thats how it worked in that scenario I mentioned. and the various land resources can be various other types of resources, unless you plan on making more 'ocean' resources, which might involve ALOT of recoding.

and you can make the impassible peaks into black holes or some kind of space anomaly or really dense nebulae. although making them into black holes would be way cooler as you might be able to recreate the 'black maw' which is a region filled with black holes where the death star was first constructed at. I don't think you could create the gravity suck effect of black holes (I'd imagine it would take a huge amount of reworking the programming), but making them impassible spaces would work.

what about villages though? I don't think you can program them to appear on ocean tiles and make them into abandoned ships or whatever, so they could be the indengenous population on a planet... but you need a way of getting to them easily....
