Well, thats because I like Darth Vader alot more than i like Palpatine. Plus, did you notice how similar Sidious, and the Emporer look? The leader heads would be far to similar.

I think i may change the sand people to the barbarians, and have the Sullustians be the new race.
 
Editor limitation:
I noticed a problem that seems to be only occurring in the "updated" 1.17f editor. I don't know if it's been posted yet, but the editor requires that you have 76 Barbarian city names. This will make the SW mod more difficult now because what civ in SW has 76 city names??? The only way around it, I think, is to put blank spaces after the city names for the civ you choose to use as Barbarians. The editor doesn't even let you do anything else until there are 76 lines in the City Names field for the Barbarian civ.

Does anyone else have this problem?
 
Im using the good ol' hacked editor and havent had any problems. Are there any new features to the new editor?

Also i have started some animation. Im editing the swordman into a padawan-jedi. ive finished changing the sword into a lightsaber in the sw view, but it will take a long time to finish this one (15 frames per direction, just for that first swinging motion)
 
Do you know if there are any compatability issues between the hacked editor and the new patch/editor? For example, will people be able to use your mod if you used the hacked 1.16f editor and they have the 1.17f patch installed?
 
Im pretty sure that you still can. I havent tested it though. Heres that unit im working on.

Just wondering...

What ideas have you come up with so far for:
*Governments
*Resources (Adegan Crystals as a stretigic resource for building units with lightsabers?)
*Civilization Advances (Repulsorlift for Speeders? Moisture Vaporation for Moisture Farm? Ion Engine for air units? Bacta Tanks for Hospital?)
*Terrain Types
*Worker Jobs (Should the worker unit be asp droid?)
*Sea Units (The only one I know of is the Gungan Bongo).

So much stuff to think about... :(
 
He's Right. Could be one of the leader units. Have you considered modifying the eras and fitting the units to the eras. changing the eras to the chapters of the sagas. Have you considered changing advisors as well. this could fit the for the jedi
 
Governments for the most part will stay the same.

Terrain will also for the most part stay the same.

Resources will be completely overhauled, and yes adegan crystals will be needed to create jedi units that wield lightsabers. Instead of horses it will be pack animal with a picture of a bantha.

Worker jobs will be renamed, roads will probably not be roads, railroads will be turbolift tubes.

Worker units will very with the civs.
r2 unit: rebels, jedi
ASP-7: imperials
OX9: trade fed
villager: wookiee, jawa, ewok (each unit will look different)
PKN49: Naboo
glurrg: gungan
slave: hunters, hutt, sith (will all be the same)
Quarren: Mon Calamari
BLX: Bespin, Sullust, Old Republic

Civilization advances: Not to that part yet

Well back to the old grindstone, i want to get some more work done on these civ-city names, and leaders.

Yes, but i wont do it to often. I like to keep things to myself until i complete a major step. I have gotten alot of the stuff done with the civs, so i will post it now. City names, leader names not finished. Civ-colors will be changed, and i havent really worked on anything else for the most part. I did a good deal of research to make sure all names are actual people from the star wars universe. So without further adieu, here it is.

I've got a small amount of suggestions to share, if I could have your ears.

First of all, you gotta add the Hapes Consortium. I believe they could replace Alderaan, since they're miltaristic, at least.

I also have a suggestion for Bespin's workers, that they should be Ugnaughts.

For wonders(great and small), my suggestions are:
Pyramids or Colossus -> Centrepoint Space Station
Great Wall -> Stars' End prison facility
Iron Works -> Kuat Drive Yards
Newton's University - > Imperial Proving Ground(on Zhar, I know it's only for testing, but hell, it might work)
Shakespeare's theater -> Kessel, I know this one's weird, but think of making all those people happy... or not.

I have a resource idea, but it's very unconventional, involving companies instead of materials, but it sort of unbalanced the game.
 
Alderaan was replaced by Bespin, and i want it to be easy to create new leader heads so im trying to stick with people i could find in the movies. And the idea for the Ugnaughts is better, i completely forgot about them. I will use some of you wonder ideas, i really like Kuat Drive Yards as the iron works. The Spice Mines of Kessel are Hoover Dam.
 
For the city names you can use planet names as well, that would increase the number of names you have. Some possible improvements:

Catina - increases tax & Luxury by 50%
Detention Block - reduces corruption
Docking Bay - Replaces Harbor
Space Port - Replaces Airport
Moisture Farm - Replaces Grainery
Deflector Shield Generators - Wall
Command Center - Replaces Palace
Fusion Generator - Nuclear Power Plant
Med Lab - Aqueduct
KDY v-150 Ion Cannon - SAM Batteries
Sabaac - Increases Luxury Trade
Interrogation Array - Requires Detention Block, Resistant to Propaganda & Reduces Corruption
Interrogation Droid - Requires Detention Block, reduces Corruption & War Weariness

Small Wonders:
Bacta Tank - Acts like Battlefield Medicine
Carbonite Chamber - Treasury Earns 5%

Great Wonders:
Spice Mines of Kessel - Gives a large production bonus.
Kessel Run - increases ship spead (like Magellan's Voyage)
Lars Moisture Farm - Gives all cities on continent a Moisture Farm
Obi-Wan's Hut - Doubles Research Outpost
