Star Wars: The Mod - Unit requests

Looks better, the fine level of detailing is much easier to pick up. And are more likely to visible when it is in a 135pixel frame.
I suggest you just keep an eye on the detailing and when you get it to civ scale, don't do too much until you get a good look at it. That way if you want more of it to show, you can always lighten it a bit more. It might be the problem is less of one in your 3d app then it was in mine.

i use poser and all you do is move the light which, while i move the light, shows where it is hitting and updates the model instantly.

Nice Slave I, polyphemus. Here's the airspeeder/snowspeeder/same difference for you to animate (again, first unit, so if anything's wrong don't look @ me). Assuming that there is some editing to be done (and there will be) well, at least you have another unit to work on! :)

As per everyone doing your units, well, you know what they say: imitation is the best form of pissing someone off. ;)

got it, thanks

@bjornlo: there is a zip a few pages back that contains many sounds. Also, if you have SW:GB you can extract eh sounds....

Any site that carries utilities will carry them. I prefer WinRar, which I got from WinRar.com
You can get all of them from cnet.com (click on downloads)

Hey, everyone. How does this look for TIE Droid?
Looks fine odin. I would suggest more civ coloration as the tips are only visible in some, but not all the frames. I would suggest adding the posts that attach to the solar panels.
In any frame where the one is hard to see, the other would be easy to pick up.

Well this sucks. I was gonna do the tie droid (ntl, good unit- me likey :) and better than the one i would've made). Sigh. . . back to the 'coming-up-with-a-new-unit-to-do board. (maybe ill start modeling a the Droid Lander . . . hmmmm)

Like bjornlo said, pretty much the only major thing is the need for a visible civ color in the front and back views, maybe the -'s in the I-o-I could be colored?

Just an animation idea here, but it'd be cool if you could get the wings to fidget independently of the center 'o' (because they were designed to in the 'real SW') for the fidget animation.

Lastly, here are a couple of 'generic' unit ideas- maybe the Generic Warrior could be an infantry from the regular civ3- kinda funny how the most modern foot unit of civ3 is to be the most backward unit of the mod. The Army could be led by a Jedi/Sith, who would wave their lightsaber forward to command their army to attack instead of their hand. The settler- no idea. The early space transport- maybe a space shuttle. :)

starwarscrazy,
Feel free to make the same unit as somone else if that is what you wanted to do. I will make some units here, but I do so to amuse myself. Not to limit actions of others.
People like choices, I doubt having more a couple of awings, or what have you. Variety is the spice of life, I've heard.

quick question. What should i do for the figdet anim for SLAVE I?

Since I am done with the A-Wing, other then finishing up the sounds.. trying to match the sounds to the actual animation is a bit time consuming.... but Vuldacon talked me into trying this, and I have to say I agree with him... I just wish no one had thought of it :P

So here are a couple of other SW units I have on the drawing boards. The units are all in Bryce, modeled, textured, civ-colored and ready to animate.
These are not the next units I'm doing, but the next starwars ones... probably a week or more until I start on them. If you are doing a version of these, please go right ahead and finish yours too.
