It's been released now. Is everybody boycotting this game for some reason? Anyone bought it already?

It's being sold suspiciously cheap at Mediamarkt in our town. Am I missing something or are they?

I'm not boycotting, but after so many years in development it's coming a week before my last exam for this semester.
I won't be buying until september when I'll really have time to play.

I kind of want to play but... .... It seems after so many years Blizzard has managed to make me not care so much anymore.

There's only so much hype you can build with delays, after that, it's just ridiculous and normal people should stop giving a crap.

Maybe I'll get it sooner than I think, if I see it available and I'm like "oh, I thought all the copies would be gone", but I'm certainly not gonna go out of my way to get it.

The virgin megastor in Paris was litterally invaded yesterday 10pm because there was Dustin Browder himself presenting the game.
Well, I'm now sure I was right not to go there yesterday but rather be waiting for 1 more month (after all, i already waited for 12 years). At least I can make sure that there'll be no more moron fighting in the Virgin store, trying to grab a collector copy of the game (which must surely include a real collector used panty of Dustin Browder, that only could explain aggressiveness of those kids as shown in TV). Pitiful.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Blizzard fan, but just not a retards-fan.

I ordered it though amazon so it'll be arriving tomorrow.

I'm not as psyched as I was when it was first announced but dammit I promised my 17 year old self I'd get it and I love that little guy

Did they actually delay it? I was under the impression that they, in typical Blizzard fashion, did not announce a date until around May. Taking their time to create a game which lives up to the company's reputation and not having a launch date is a bit different than repeatedly changing their mind about a date.

They never delayed it but I've had screen shots of some of the cinematics on my computer for YEARS. Plus its Blizzard, they have a tendancy to tell you a lot about it when they first announce it, and then go through months(or even a year or more) with no new updates or even new screenshots(take a look at how long it took them to tell us the classes to Diablo 3 or info on the Cataclysm expansion for WoW) which obviously frustrates players. And there is so far no anouncemnt on when the other two campaigns will be released.

Plus there was that whole Starcraft firstperson shooter fiasco.

On topic: I have it, its fun, entertaining, but different(Actual mission selections). Only played 3 out of the 26 missions so far.

I actually was in the store earlier (for batteries for something else!) and saw many copies of it. I resisted... I expected that they'd already be all gone by now, but there were loads.

I say that because back in the days, when I was frantically wanting Diablo 2, I didn't manage to grab it in the opening day and I had to wait for weeks before I could get a hold of one...

I'm gonna wait until all three games comes out in a $50 box

I got it for 20$ through my little brother. I wasn't planning on it since I won't be able to play it for some time and I really isn't much into that type of game anymore... but it's Blizzard and their production values are too high to pass up at that price. I'm still suspicious about the deal until I get my hands on it. 20$ for SC2 on the release day??!

Will try it at some point. The SC1 campaign was fun !

I bought Starcraft 1 this summer based off of #2 anticipation, but in all I wasn't impressed with 1 (other than as a historical piece) and beta videos on youtube makes me think #2 is largely like #1.

Yea.. I'm not too excited about playing through the missions to be honest... but it feels like the story could be more epic and well-produced than any sci-fi on TV. I feel it's worth the hazzle just for that experience. I could be wrong though.

I have hit. I was a hugfe sc1 fan--not the campaign but the multiplayer. 1v1s.

Second game is fun but not as good as the first. Meh. Haven't tried out the storyline yet. Of course, now I can edit location to say training with sc2 instead of training for

<------------------

put that up in 2007 when the game was announced.

It's not worth the money now if you're not having much time to play it. Save your money.

I'm pretty impressed so far.

As long as its one terran campaign as long as the whole original game as I was originally lead to believe I'll be a happy camper.

I love the Terran campaign so far. It's very well done and much better than what you usually find in computer games. The multiplayer is too fast for my liking, so I'm likely to only play unrated, co-op matches with a few friends on slower speed settings. RTS tend to get stressful, and I'm not big on rush tactics.

But it is certainly an excellent strategy title and I'd recommend it just for the single-player campaign already.
