I've been playing the Norwest Passage.
I've noticed that the land closest to Europe is usually taken up by the natives and the few free spots that are left are spots the AI will use for their colonies. Not only that the resources seem a bit dismal compared to further inland.
Just for kicks I started a settlement (I'm gonna call it where Detroit would be). Plenty of free space and good resources. The downfall of course is the long trip back to Europe.
Just wondering if anyone else has tried this. I abandoned my effort deeming it to be stupid. (I think).. LOL.....
