Statue of Zues....WOW.

They should make Ivory spread out through the world more then the other Luxaries.

Luck should not be such a big factor in this, possible, game breaking wonder.

What do you call Iron Works if it isn't 'luck'?

Can't agree more...especially in a game where technological progress is slow (for an all human game at Deity) where Ancient Cavalry will be relevant for a LONG, LONG time ;)

I can't agree more either. That Temple must be one of the best I've read about! WOW:)

Iron Works doesn't have as big an effect as the ToZ. Yes, it CAN if it happens right in your or an AI's core, but chances are it won't happen at all, or if it does, its in a crappy city.

However, at least ONE Civ is guarenteed a shot at ToZ. The ivory can be an any part of your empire and you can build the ToZ in your core. So, basically one Civ is guarenteed the ability to build the ToZ. The worst thing that can happen regarding the ToZ is that it is built a little late because the Civ that has the Ivory is in a war and cannot build it (which happened in my game).

I don't think the Statue is unbalancing, even with the random factor of Ivory. It's nice, don't get me wrong, but the same is true of all the Wonders. I'm quite certain that the Temple of Artemis or the Pyramids is a bigger threat in the hands of a skilled player.

Yeah, but those require skill, the ToZ does not, in the same degree.

Exactly, how powerful is it? I had problems finding the exact info, but from memory, SoZ costs 200 shields. An ancient cavalry is valued at 40 shields. That would be 25 turns to make it worth it, if you only wanted units. How many turns would need to pass to make it worth it, if you just disbanded for shields? I can't remember the percentage. When does the SoZ become obsolete? I thought it was education. It seems that on higher levels where the human player is lagging in technology, that it would be increasingly less valuable to build. Anyone care to guess how long it stays around turn-wise? (I won't be able to play C3C for another 4 days or so.)

The SoZ obsoletes at Metalurgy, it produces an Ancient Cavalry (3.2.2 +1 HP) every 4 turns.
