Stealing techs question

Civs who were at war with Persia shouldn't have been able to "see" your rep-hit.

I think I was the only one at the time  Their lease on my continent expired all too conveniently about 5 turns after I had researched "motorized transportation"

But do the non-WH examples you listed later cause war weariness?

All war will cause WW, after enough turns. That's war weariness... not world war :crazyeye: If you start with WH it will take more turns before your people start getting angry than without it, especially if you stay on the defensive. At least, that is my understanding.

Anyways, with proper leveraging of luxs and the happy slider, you can go a pretty long time in a war, even under democracy, without causing mass uprising. Your cities won't be the most happy with you, but they'll still produce.

PS: I have also had the AI come to me with just "Peace treaty" after the requisit 20 turns of peace following a war, saying "I don't feel the need to extend this deal". I just click "OK" and pummel them for it. Not saying it happens often, but it does occasionally. I have not, however, had the AI simply say "Prepare for war!" without them already having a unit or three within my borders. They will always come to you with something before declaring, whether it be extortion, joining an alliance, having an MPP, or whatever.

Not as I understand it. You only get war weariness when you lose units. There also exists a nice "how to wage a war in democracy/republic" or something like that article in the War Academy by Moonsinger.
