Steam Activation

Hello,

I would like to know if the download version date of Civilization V via Steam/Direct2Drive, scheduled for 21st of September, is also valid for customers outside US. I am asking because the international DVD release is set for 24th of September, so when ordering via Direct2Drive (Steam), when will I get the game activation? Do they know my IP and postpone my activation until 24th?

From everything I've read in other threads, Steam knows where you are and does not release early for you.
