I don't understand how Germany is considered most trustworthy. Merkel backslides constantly. I don't trust her word at all! At least with France there is no months and months of saying one thing then changing your mind at the last possible moment. You know what you're getting with France.

Italy is probably the all-round worst country in Europe right now.

That all depends what the subject of this poll is. The people, the culture or the current government ? I do think that Germans are overall pretty trustworthy, but I have absolutely no faith in Angela Merkel and her government in general.

I love how the french consider themselves the most arrogant and the least arrogant. "Yes, we're arrogant, but we're so self-conscious about it that we actually aren't arrogant at all." seems to be the line of reasoning here. I think the poll would have been better if it included more countries and you couldn't vote for yourself.

That result would make sense if France were the only country in Europe. But you'd have to be pretty arrogant to think like that.

Shortly after the Yugoslav civil war, I traveled with my parents from Germany to Bosnia and we had to take a detour through Hungary and Serbia because the Croats were being dicks about the transit visa. The Hungarian border guards were even more currupt than the Serbs. If you didn't bribe them with beer they just wouldn't let you pass.
And nobody else in Europe understands their weird language.

The ruling Fidesz party is pretty much comparable to the UKIP in terms of idiocy. Jobbik would be comparable to the British National Party.
